Xplorer4x4
Im a bit ignorant when it comes to scanners, but I was thinking of getting this one:Radioshack PRO-164 1000-Channel Handheld Scannerhttp://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...oductId=2970547Its the cheapest one at radioshack that seems to pick up EDACS.Im not against getting one online but this seems like the best deal, and has pretty good reviews.Heres frequencies I need to pick up:http://scanevansville.com/edacs.aspxI'd like to be able to pick up all the talk groups, and need good range. Range would be about 30 miles.Thoughts?

swatlord
go to http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/Click on your state, county, etc, then choose the feed you want to listen to. Most will have an all inclusive stream. You don't have to pay anything and you don't need to charge it. You just have to keep your computer onEDIT: here's the direct link...http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?ctid=774 It has Evansville public safety, it seems to be everything...EDIT(again) I was just listening to it and the police were talking about this guy that keeps calling the police station threatening to blow up Evansville, dispatch and that particular officers house. What the hell is going on in your town?!
Xplorer4x4
LOL I must have missed that. Thats about the time i turned it of to go to bed. I always miss the good calls when I dont listen lol. I missed a bomb threat at the casino the other day. Bomb Squad called in because a guy left his briefcase in the lobby while using the restroom shortly after the threat. Turned out to be coincidence.Tonight, we were waiting on my neighbor to come home. She finally gets home and says theres a cop out side. He was parked in the parking lot across the median pointed right at our building. Next thing I know theres 2 more Evansville Police and 2 Vanderburgh County Sheriffs. Turns out his sister in laws friend was brought there ,drunk, by a sheriff after being kicked out of an establishment across the street. Im assuming this is because the jail is over crowded, as to why he was brought there. So anyways he starts raising hell and long story short it took alot of officers to calm him down, and they didnt haul him off despite 2 active warrants.Anyways yes I am aware of the live feed but I was interested in an actual hand held so I dont need internet access to listen to it. emergency4freak
I HIGHLY recommend the BC246t. I have had one for almost 2 years now, and it has definitely done justice. Fantastic scanner. very affordable, and worth getting.I HIGHLY recommend the BC246t. I have had one for almost 2 years now, and it has definitely done justice. Xplorer4x4
Well I think i will stick with the Radioshack for now. Its not the best but I am figuring it out slowly but surely. I may look into a BC246t down the line. Seems a bit smaller which would be nice, and the radioshacks a bit of pita to program.
