njboy13
I mean Emergency Codes. What do you use. Is it the General "Code 3, Lights and Siren, Code 2, no siren, lights" or is it something different. It's actually different in my town:Code 1: Regular call, Lights + Siren unless otherwise notified.Code 2: Mass Casualty, all available manpower report to headquarters. (We have never ever had to use Code 2, and let's hope for many more years without using it)Code 3: Non-Emergency TransportCode 4: As we are volunteers, that means we need a second volunteer crew because the on duty one is on another call.Signal 74: Working Fire, All manpower report to headquarters. kyle308
signal 8 means no L&S Signal 10 means run code 3 and extreme signal 10 is when the police are on scene and the pt. is circling the drain and the cops are freakin out haha
Xplorer4x4
Codes? About the only codes we have here is Code 1-3. Other then that everything is called for what is is. If a security alarm goes off, they call it a security alarm. If its a robbery in progress, its called a robbery in progress. No point in going on. Its pretty simple. Its pretty simple.Fire services in the Netherlands have three 'codes' Prio 1: responding with lights and sirensPrio 2: responding without lights and sirens, but we can use some of the exceptions in the law (parking on the side walk etc.)Prio 3: responding without lights and sirens and without use of exceptions (so you're basicly a civilian)Ambulance services also have 3 codes:A1: responding with lights and sirens to an emergencyA2: responding without lights and sirens to less urgent emergencies B: responding without lights and sirens to transport ridesI'm not familiar with the 'codes' system the police use in the Netherlands. It's more complicated especially since they have some codes where the get to respond to burglary etc. without lights and sirens so they won't scare of the robbers. Newfoundking
I know what you mean code wise, AFAIK here the codes aren't used the same either..For instance it is not uncommon to be driving around, see a cop car weaving around, flick on the lights, go through an intersection then turn them off. That's so they can get there fast, but without alerting anyone of their presence.Fire trucks here more or less respond with lights and sirens the whole way.. Worst thing is 99.9% of the time it's the same siren the whole way, so all you hear for 10 minutes is the same siren off in the distance approaching closer.. Not even an airhorn or change -.-Ambulances I think do the codes though, 1, no lights no siren, 2, lights and siren when needed, 3 lights and sirens at all times until on scene. Xplorer4x4
Fire services in the Netherlands have three 'codes'No I know what codes are, it was more of a rhetorical question. Aside from typical Code 1-3 responses we dont have any other codes that I have picked up. Ambulances pretty much use the same code system I believe as I heard one of the county ambulances(theres only 2 here, literally 2 ambulances) say there were code 1 to the hospital with 1 patient. AMR pretty much has there own channel that I dont monitor so I am not sure, but i think they have the same code 1-3 structure, well that and maybe Code Blue.
