quasar3210
Hi all, I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my Dell Vostro Laptop. It has a Nvidia 9600GS Video card. I also installed the latest drivers for the card from Dell's website. My problem is that the scaling is not working correctly in the EM4 game only. I have a large black ring around the game and the game screen is centered on the screen. No resolution changes help in the game or on the computer itself. Does anyone know which setting I need to fix to make the game show up full screen like all of my other programs? Thanks, Tom
bennie900
Hi,Try this: Go to your main EM4 folder, find em4.cfg and open with notepad.Find the line's <var name="r_xres" value="" /> <var name="r_yres" value="" /> Try and change the values to what ever your desktop resolution is.For example mine resolution is 1680x1050 and this is what my em4.cfg looks like: <var name="r_xres" value="1680" /> <var name="r_yres" value="1050" />NOTE: If you cant find those line's just add them in anywhere.Remember: backup your em4.cfg file before you change it! Right now, its set at 1280 x 1024 which is what I had the game set at last. My actual resolution on screen is 1280 x 800 which is what I typed in. I think I am doing it right so far. Now my only problem is Windows isn't letting me save it as a cfg file again. Closest I got was to get it called em4deluxe.cfg.txt. What do I gotta do to save it as a cfg file again. randomperson139
Save it to your desktop and copy and paste it back into the original location.
quasar3210
Thanks both of you, I did the save to the desktop idea the first time and it didn't work. However on my next attempt it worked fine. I ended up having to set everything to max resolution of 1920 x 1200 and it works perfect. Thanks again for all the help.
