Crashes to Desktop after 5 minutes

Recommended Posts

after 5 minutes of gameplay it will crash to desktop. I am using LA mod 1.9, i've uninstalled the mod and still have the same problem, I've reinstalled the game twice and still the same issue. It also does the same thing in editor. I've followed previous reccomendations to change the 'doo' to 0 instead of 1, I've also made everything 'read only'. Any help is appreciated.

Are you running the game in administrator mode? Also you do not need to set all files to read only, just your log file and the configuration file.

You can also try 'downgrading' your graphic drivers since many people experience problems with the 2009 version of their graphic drivers while playing EM4. If you install drivers from 2008, that somehow makes it crash a lot less.

I've ran it both ways, with administrator and without, still the same result.... and going to try the graphics card driver downgrade, i'll let ya know how it goes.

Downgraded graphics and still crashes... I apreciate the help so far, any other ideas?

Have you tried lowering the in game graphic settings (low quality, no shadws etc.) or increasing your virtual memory (see the Technical Help FAQ for that)?
