Guest mrpolice1996
OK you can post what you think are the most Weird and Unusual units from anywhere in the world as long as they are an emergency unit. Here is mine:Some fire brigades use un-maned air vehicles (UAVs) or microdrones at major incidents. This low-cost alternative to a manned helicopter can allow firefighters an unparalleled overview of the fireground. The vehicles can be fitted with video, thermal or stills cameras. They are remote controlled and can automatically hover using an in-built GPS receiver. This is an example of a UAV. It has four rotors which run on electric motors. The battery lasts between 15 and 40 minutes depending on the wind, and only takes a few seconds to swap for a fresh one. When flying at 100 feet, the aircraft is silent and almost invisible. It is used by the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service.

Xplorer4x4
On second look I dont think either of the "tillers" here are really tillers. There just semis pretty much, namely the Hazmat tiller since Internationals are very commonly used to pull trailers.
CptThade
A tiller usually refers to the tractor drawn aerial ladder that many departments still operate, here's an example of one from LA. many FDs from major cities operate these because they tend to have a longer reach than most of the tower units, as well as not having a bucket to interfere with the extrication of someone from a balcony or window. FireLt640
My old department in Texas used to have an Alvis Stalwart six-wheeled amphibious truck for river rescues. The problem was that it would only take a 9 knot cross current and the part of the river where we got her to use primarily has a 20-25 knot cross current during heavy flooding. Shadylasse
The first NYPD one is similar to the parking enforcement and usually used on small local precints, where the big ones usually have Crown Vic, Dodge Charger and Chevy Impala. I know just what i thoughtCaption on photo:This is the equipment used by the London Ambulance Service's skateboard response unit (which is part of the cycle unit). The photo shows the ambulance back-pack with essential emergency care equipment, as well as the protective equipment worn by the skater. The board is in European-standard ambulance yellow with LAS wording, crest and NHS logo.
