It can be found shocking by some viewers. Viewer discretion is therefor strongly recommended.I do not know any of the officers injuries, i can just judge by the pictures that it's a pretty heavy injury. Hoppah
The cars behind the truck had seconds to react. These cars might have been distracted, because of the approaching ambulance and the accident on the other side of the highway (not visible in the video). The truck could've blocked the view before it switched lanes. Then suddenly a motorcycle is in your way... You do not expect a stopped vehicle on the middle of a highway. Very bad anticipation of the motorcycle officer. He did survive it though. Here's a video of the accident on the other side of the higway: You can see the convoy leaving the scene and people suddenly start running to other side of the highway after motorcycle driver got it. randomperson139
Good to hear that he didn't die.In the youtube video there was an air ambulance..... surely it would have been easier and quicker to take the original casualty in the air ambulance instead? Stan
While changing from left to right a car was about next to the car that had to change and indeed the officer could have redirected from the secure stroke ( The stroke for rescue workers to pass stopped cars)http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=016_1251893806

puppysboy222
100% dumb and idiotocity. Imagine a person standing in the middle of the road, okay? Well, you should be looking ahead at the road. If you were looking, you would see that person. If you weren't, you obviously wouldn't. So the dumb driver hit the cop...Glad he survived. Looked bad. There are a few exceptions (like tranbsporting patients in areas where ambulances can't get to or when they expect a patient may need surgery on the way to the hospital), but in most cases the emergency surgeon accompanies the victim in the ambulance and they are driven to hospital. The pilot flies the helicopter to a pick up point near the hospital and then they pick up the doctor and fly back to base. I don't know why they made that rule. Lafferty
Kinda logic:Women + car + cigarette + phone, that's the recipie of an accident yeah ain't that the truth. Lady almost hit me today was talking on her cell phone. Then she looked at me as if I had done something wrong. In her own little world. The truck could've blocked the view before it switched lanes. Then suddenly a motorcycle is in your way... I agree it was a bad time. I thought it would be the semi hit the officer the way he shot out in front of it. However I do believe the driver of the car had enough time to react in some way even if it was laying on the horn. Not to mention the officer reacted kind of late.yeah ain't that the truth. Lady almost hit me today was talking on her cell phone. Then she looked at me as if I had done something wrong. In her own little world.I hate nothing more then when some one does something stupid while driving and if you honk or yell at them they get mad like they didnt do anything.Good to hear the officer survived. I expected otherwise.
Shadylasse
You also see the officer jumping away, which probably causes the high jump, or, he's attempting to get away from there.
pyrothijs
The officer was hospitalized with a broken jaw, a severe concussion and a torn vertebra. But his life is no longer in danger.

Hell I dont even trust the majority of my friends driving. I have even seen a girl try to drive around a cop blocking the road for a fire truck supply line. Grim_Wizard
My friend drove me into a tree one time. When I was carpooling I would sleep on the way there. This guy had rap music on really really really loud, and Started to do the raise the roof move. I didn't notice because I had my eyes shut untilll about two seconds from impact when I yelled "Hit the brake" He managed to cut across six lanes of highway and a grooved shoulder and hit a tree. Needless to say I stoped carpooling with him.THe other day I also saw a woman changing her pants, talking on a phone, and reading.I know a cop who patrols around there and was nearby, so I called him and told him what was going on. Man when he pulled up behind her and flashed her she slowed down and started yelling at the cop like it was his fault. These people need to learn better.
