MCERT1
I was going through a bookshelf and stumbled accross come old pics of one of an amphibious fire truck. They were made from a military surplus rig called the LARC-V I think San Fransico and Miami had them. Anyways, does anyone know if they're still running them? MCERT1
Close, but the LARC-V was more modern than those. That is DUKW, a WWII amphibous Unit the original Larcs looked like thisI would assume that unit is retired?

MCERT1
I looked at the Seattle Fire Department website, and it isn't mentioned or pictured so I assume it is not active.

Anyways, does anyone know if they're still running them? There are still a couple of LARCs running around, mostly in Minnesota and New York. Sodus Point FD has one, I believe Virginia Beach got rid of theirs as did Nantucket Fire. They are just huge cash dumps maintenance wise and most have been replaced by hovercraft (which are great for ice rescues) and other, more modern dual purpose vehicles like the Hydratek MPAV.
