That way you cannot go back to the default game if you wanted to. If you have a hard copy you can reinstall the game, but if you have a digital download you need the code or you have to buy a new copy. And as theparanoid said it can also cause problems with the game because of the new commands and functions. Some are based upon the original files and need them to work.
