Guest rikardo_92
Im trying to help my friend running 911 First Responders so we can play online, he have windows vista, when he runs the game nothing shows up, just a black screen and then goes to desktop.I told him to search for the logfile but he says there's no logfile there, he also showed me a printscreen of that folder.Any ideas? btw, great forum
Croaton
I would suggest to uninstall the game, then try to update your video driver since usually this is the most common problem. If you have an nvidia geforce card, then the ForceWare 169.25 should work properly with the game (it was the latest driver about 3 weeks ago).I've figured out that 911 has no problem with Vista at all, so if you are getting crashes, then that's not because of the operating system. It's caused by something else...
MikeyPI
He is correct, Vista and FR work perfectly fine with no issues, chances are his computer does not support the screen resolution that has been set, he can either reinstall as suggested and update drivers (recommended regardless). If that fails he should attempt to change the screen resolution in the config file manually, there is a topic related to doing that here, see that for full details on how to do that after updating the drivers and reinstalling is attempted. The issue you describe is video card related more likely than not.
