I have two version one with the diamond roof from 1.4 and one with it from 1.5, both have hi viz. I also don't have the mod files to remove the boxes from the roof, so I knew that would look wrong. I'll post photos once I get the second one in game later tonight....They're at least a starting point for LACoFD Engine.. and here are some pics, it's my first attempt at skinning and I did it with paint so the skins ain't great, also not how different it does look compared to a city engine.

* EDIT:I have changed the number placement and added the FDNY commemoraion, so they both look like LACoFD E8*

Ok here's my latest suggestion, I know Hoppah isn't very keen on the Idea of adding more vehicles and personnel to the LA Mod, and most vehicles people request are simply reskins of othe units in the mods... so could there be some sort optional download to the LA mod consisting units, made by the community. It could include user submitted, and Hoppah approved skins ( for ex. the LACoFD Engine and very soon an AMR ambulance)and vehicles and also older unused models like the lev. Then people could simply download the file and insert the extra vehicles they want into the LA Mod. Feel free to completely shoot this down. I understand your need to protect your creations

People may change the mod to what they want. In case they made nice or cool I can allow them to release it.

The biggest problem: People don't want to spend time on releasing it as a small mod (only containing their changed files), like I do with my mission patch.

People want to release the whole mod with their changed stuff again and that's something I absolutely DO NOT want.

What I would like to see, is a presidential protection mission. Seeing how you have some FBI stuff on the go, they could act as secret service, even though their cars aren't Christmas trees:P That would be fun. I would like to see something along the lines of simply getting the limo, from one end of town to the other, might have to put up roadblocks, stop protesters, snipers, stuff like that. that would be plenty more fun than sending a convoy of police cars across town on a slow night during freeplay

Something like the mission in EM3. A hostage situation would also be cool, FBI would be a great thing that mission as they could negotiate.

Good idea, I was thinking of the same thing. Hoppah's models are outstanding - if we could reskin them, (and maybe Hoppah could help us out with making some small edits to the model itself to change light bars and other light placement), to be a local FD or PD and then release it to the community, I think it would be great. I would want to make sure Hoppah approved of each mod mod, so he ensures a high level of detail.

I have a small sugestion. As you may know and im sure mike does but LAPD Air Support is in the process of repainting all of there Astars (AS350s) to the traditional LAPD Black and White colors. I will include some more pictures as soon as my dad can get them but here is a video showing it.

I have seen their new color scheme, it looks similar to the patrol cars now which I was told that is what they were going for (thnx mikesphotos for showing me their repaint). Unfortunately, unlesss the helo is redone into the AS birdie I do not see the real need to reskin it and with the work needed to remodel the bird's rotor assembly I do not know if it is worth pursuing, yes the TV helo is pretty similar but in the end it can be better... For a limited replacement anyone could easilly throw the helo model from the TV chopper into the police prototype and have the same result as what you want hoppah to do.

Not a bad idea but like I said rotors are alot of work, hoppah can testify to that.

ive got an idea ensted of making asecond fire station why dont u just make the first one bigger so it could hold a ussar truck wild land truck and a heavy equipment squad. the only reson fr me sugesting this is that when there was a acident toyu could have the ussar truk respond and for medical calls you could have the heavy equipment squad respond. as for the wild land truk it speeks for it self. :1046275747_biggthumpup:

That's a good idea, but I think it's just as much work as adding a new fire station.

To what? Right now, the colour of the unmarked car is black. Black is cool and almost everyone like black cars.

Yes. Most police department, they keep their unmarked dark; i.e Coal, Dark Grey, et cetera.

I don't mean permanent change, but like the option to choose light black, white, burgundy something like that. I know theres alot of scripting to that, so if thats a no, then no problem, I'll try to work on it for later

I've taken the liberty of editing some of the PD vehicles as a proof of concept to see if I could edit the rear flashers as well as add the appropriate steady burn lights. What i've done is on the MX7K's, i've added red and blue steady burns to both the blue and to the special light categories, and changed the rear flashers to a pattern that doesn't conflict when you turn on the special light button. With the slicktop I added the correct rear view mirror light and edited the arrow bar, while turning off the additional lights. With the CHP vision, under blue lights the center pod is steady burn, and under special light, pod's 1 and 7 steady burn.

I didn't do a very good job, as this video will attest, but it was more a proof of concept that you, and other light editors might care to see. If nothing else, I think it at least shows that it is possible, within reason, and without having to add more then 4 or 5 lights, with half of them possibly being off depending on personal usuage.

That file contains those light edits and I want to use them in the mod.

You can find the file in "...\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.5\Prototypes\Vehicles\03 LA Police\" and the file is called cv_lapd.e4p.

The best way to send them is using the attachment system on this forum.

I was wondering if there could be a "escort" script/command of the next version of LA mod.

Like, selecting 2 or 3 cars and make them drive together like a escort.

I fell in love with it after the mission in EM3 with LAmod, the president escort thing. That was awsome.

Is this possible? Maybe a stupid idea cause u can just make them drive together, but some cars are faster

I think it has to do with the technical difficulties in syncing the information required by scripts to all of the connected clients.
