I have instaled the LA Mod, but nothing changes. He mentions changing the language if you don't have the German version of EM4. You have 911 First Responders as far as I know, so you need to change the language value (instructions there) to 'us', not 'fr'.Try that and see what happens.I had a problem with 911FR suddenly not loading at all one day, black screen and crash to desktop. Couple of days ago I had this same problem happened suddenly after the game played fine for few days. luckily it happened right after I formatted my PC so it was easy to trace the problem. I've found out that when i remove the KLM codec pack the game runs fine after a few more tries I've found thatdisabling ffdshow video decoder or Getting it from here and disabling halli media splitter did the job. I purchased the downloadable version of 911 First Responders. On the Atari support page, they say if you install the game to the folder with the read-me.txt it will work, I tried it and it did. Its the folder that has data1 data2, setup etc. Hope this helps. What I did was I installed / unzipped EVERYTHING into the same folder and the game runs perfect.
