Bort
I don't think I've ever completed the 'Hijack!' mission where we have to select units and personnel before the mission starts. It's a passenger airplane being hijacked where we have to stop the plane from being fueled and deal with the hijackers, of which there's several of them. I believe it's an event that happens during the game because it doesn't crash all of the time, every time, sometimes the reason I don't get to complete it is because I fail at it for some reason or another - usually too many victims which must be passengers on the plane I haven't figured out how to rescue. Also during a lot of attempts at this mission if I don't have someone at the stairs next to the person negotiating to pick them up right away when the hijacker shoots a hostage and throws them down the stairs the victim disappears pretty quick, I assume they glitch under the stairs because I can see a puddle of blood but can't get to them to either heal or pick them up when that happens. Even the vanilla game does this using the units and personnel the game loads without removing or adding any of them in any way. I have the game through Steam. It just closes, crashes to the desktop without warning and there's no error prompt at all it just kersplats. I've looked at Windows Event Viewer and there's nothing there I've found to lead me to the cause. The only warning I have at all in Event Viewer is: Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM Date: 5/24/2021 4:54:25 PM Event ID: 10016 Task Category: None Level: Warning Keywords: Classic User: TRIDENT3\user Computer: Trident3 Description: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54} and APPID {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402} to the user TRIDENT3\user SID (S-1-5-21-2877215197-3403884424-2333020591-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This is one of the most unusual bug reports I've ever taken. Anyway the hijacking mission is a tricky one. Usually the bomb explodes and the game assumes an automatic fail condition. I don't have any explanation for the game CTD. When does it happen specifically? The person warping underground is also an unusual bug. Bort
Thank you for the reply. It happens randomly which is why I don't get it. If I were able to cause it and reproduce it I'm savvy enough that that would give me a clue as to where to start looking. I've changed the method of how I was going at completing this mission from a youtube video I watched of it that taught me things I never knew we could do in LA mod like have the stretcher paramedics drop the stretcher and they turn in to FF / Paramedics. I've tried so many different methods of attempting this mission. So far going at it with a similar method to the video I watched it hasn't crashed but I still haven't completed it. That leads me to think it's something with the units or personnel I chose to use causing to crash. I was using National Guard and FBI and Swat units and personnel. The victims aren't warping in to the ground. They're hostages the hijackers shoot and throw down the stairs are going under the stairs after a few seconds. If I don't have person there and pick them up almost immediately I can't get them out from under the stairs. Oddly when that happens it doesn't seem to effect the game though because the victim number doesn't increase and all the victims the display says I have are accounted for (either being healed or in an ambulance/MCU). I've been preventing that by rushing a soldier or swat officer in with the M4 and killing the hijackers. The previous warning I shared from event viewer is something that's always there that happens every hour or so I have the PC running, I assume it's one of those Windows things that's a known issue they've never and aren't going to correct. The event log I shared was in Windows/System and the time stamp doesn't match when the game crash happens. I did find logs in the Security section that have something to do with UAC (User Accounts). I also don't think that has anything to do with the game crashing. If it continues to crash I'll look in to the security issue. I think that might be another Windows thing though too. I'm aware Windows is full of errors that've existed for a long time through several versions Microsoft never has and probably isn't going to fix. I'm going to go back at it and I've been recording video to share of it so I can show what happens....if it happens again.
