CanadianFrog
So, a while back I desired to make something along the lines of the 90s submod, but with the Montana mod’s map (because it’s an awesome map!) I read up on how to take models from other mods (F.Y.I this mod is 100% private) and i changed one of the fire trucks from Montana Mod with a fire truck from the 90’s submod. It looked like it went well, but, now i cannot connect hoses to the truck, if anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. itchboy
Go into the editor and enter the "edit children" section. Then go to the "superchilds" tab and add connectors. They must be named "connector0", "connector1" and so on. You can only have a maximum of four.
CanadianFrog
I tried this and it didn't work, so i think i did something wrong. I found a fire truck pump child and added 4 of them and named them accordingly. I started up the mod and it didn't work.
itchboy
Stupid dog, you made me look bad! *Puts on tribal mask* Did you set the vehicle as a GTF? What is the base mod you used? Which scripts are you running? LA's or Montana's? *Takes off tribal mask*
CanadianFrog
Haha. I’m using Montana as a base mod and i’m Running Montana’s scripts. I have not set the vehicle as a GTF (I’ll try that) and the model i’m Using in the 1990 seagrave from the 90’s submod (the one that replaces engine 2)
itchboy
Montana's scripts are easier to work with. The original LA ones were configured in a very unusual way. The model shouldnt matter, the steps will apply for every vehicle you put in regardless of vintage.
CanadianFrog
I changed it to GTF and it works now. Thank you for your help!
CanadianFrog
I have another problem. I was testing the mod after putting some more changes in, and the water supply script half-works, but you cannot connect a hose to the fire truck. itchboy
It might be caused by the LWS you implemented. Though, why would you need to add it in if you're using Montana? Or am I missing something?
CanadianFrog
I am using the 1990 seagrave from the 90s submod which is not designed to have a water supply script. It has a water supply but you cannot connect a hose to it. I’m wondering if i need a fifth connection.
itchboy
Have you added the "water_supply" child? You also need the "pump_controller" child.
CanadianFrog
I have not, i will try that.
CanadianFrog
I could not find the water_supply child or the pump_controller child
itchboy
You need to add them in. You can use that golf ball that I showed you as a child object.
CanadianFrog
Okay, so it all comes down to just the names of the child objects?
itchboy
Yes. Be sure to press enter after typing the name in the box. Em4 has issues with saving the names of childs.
CanadianFrog
I've tried this, but it won't work. I looked to see that if i didn't save it, but I did.
itchboy
Can I see some screenshots of the childs you put together? I am assuming you did not edit the fire hose script in any way, so the fault must be in the childs.
