Extra textures folder when installing mod?

Last night I downloaded the Portuguese mod.  I unzipped it in the mods folder, and it made an extra textures folder in the actual mod folder.  When I check the Portuguese mod folder, there's also a texture folder there.  I can play the mod and have  most textures, but it's obvious there's something going on.

I think it was used lights coronas folder.

Correct.

I used custom coronas, so I added the Textures folder with the extra texture files, so that everything works fine.
