Mod Installation

Good evening,

 

To start off guys i am new to all this so be gentle if i don't do things right or don't understand what to do.

 

I have installed 911 First Responder  and am now trying to install LA Mod but am having an issue.

 

I get a Pop up when I try to install the Mod that says

 

Set up could not find a valid installation of emergency 4 or 911 first

Responder and is unable to find a location to install the Mod 

 

Press OK to continue setup

 

When I press OK the Mod seems to load up ok but does not work it also asks if i want a shortcut

on the desktop, I reply yes but no shortcut is created...

 

Please help,

I take it you have the steam version of 911 first responders. Y

If so la mod came out way before the steak, version and has different folder then the installer is looking for this is cause of both you issues.

If your EM4 is not listed under /sixteen tons entertainment/Emergency 4/ then do this : (its the only thing I can think of that can give this issue, anyone with a better idea feel free to take a shot )

Problem Solved, see below how I got it to work. I did this both for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER

1. Re-install 911 First Responders to C:\Program Files (x86)\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4 instead of the default directory.

2. Start regedit by selecting Start - Run, typing in 'regedit' and then

hitting 'OK'.

3. Select 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' and press the '+' button to its left to

expand the list.

4. Next, select 'SOFTWARE' and press the '+' button to its left to expand

the list.

5. Right-click on 'SOFTWARE' and select New > Key.

Enter the new key name: sixteen tons entertainment

6. Right-click on 'sixteen tons entertainment' and select New > Key.

Enter the new key name: Emergency 4

7. Right-click on 'Emergency 4' and select New > String value.

Enter the new key name: Installdir

8. Right-click on 'Installdir' and select Modify.

In the 'Value Data' field, C:\Program Files (x86)\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4

Now, exit the registry editor by selecting the File menu and then clicking

on Exit.
