Pottyscotty
Hi all,I have had no access to my desktop PC for a few months now (That is why my mod progress is slow if people are wondering, I have no access to emergency 4) and have finally got a guy who will reinstall windows. It will be £50 and he'll upgrade it from a Vista to a Win 7 for free. Is this a good deal/price?
RangerDog
No, a new Windows version cost quick already like 100 euro, i thanks thats about 140 pounds (Thats just a guess). I thinkyou better can go to a proffesional computer store, it mayby costs more, but it is more trstable, and if it is gone wrong, they always can repair it again. Handsup!
No, that sounds like a scam from the 'Windows Certified' technicians. (like the ones at car boot sales... XD) Considering a legit W7 copy retails at around £75 an installation including labor would be about £90-100.
MikeyPI
Assuming your computer is otherwise good except it needs an OS, I would go ahead and buy a legit copy of windows, not one from a "techie" that prob has a bundle license deal that allows multi installs on machines, if something goes wrong you don't have a copy yourself and you'll end up right back where you started without the OS you need... You do far better if you gotta go out and get the OS from the marketplace to just get whichever windows you want at retail so you at least have your own license that you know is 100% correct and proper. Pottyscotty
Thanks guys, turns out I read it wrong, it is £90 for the whole process as it is Win 7 not Vista. Forgot to mention that I have used him a number of times for problems with my PC's so is fairly trusted.
