theocd
From July a British Fire Service will start operating more like an American/European one, any thoughts, particularly among Brits but anyone else can chip in http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-27364309 The OC-D
Wkboy714
Seems interesting, I was wondering when someone was going to trial this given all the reorganising going on these days. Will just have to wait and see how it goes. I can't see it going nationwide though.
randomperson139
They will still need an ambulance RRV to attend, and travel in the ambo if necessary. This basically seems to be using Fire Co-Responders to hit Ambulance Service targets. And a way for the Fire Service to make themselves look busier, avoiding more cuts/stations closures. Guest
Interesting thing here up here in Scotland in aberdeenshire I think it was they've just opened a base with all 3 emergency services so there's a police car, ambulance and fire engine
randomperson139
That's just saving money by sharing a base, which makes sense for everyone involved. Why have 3 separate bases when 1 can be shared. Although, the Fire Service will spend much more time in the station! ses
for a while now our fire fighters have been going to medical calls as first responders / back up to ambos.we do not have ambulance run by the fire service like the usa,so fire fighters provide treatment untill the ambulance arrives.honestly i think having an ambulance run by the fire service is a good idea it could mean getting patients to hospital quicker.
