Activation FAILED: connection error occurred... Windows 8 Pro.

I'm using Windows 8 Pro, 64 bit machine and when I try to activate EM4, I get a connection error occured. Annoying! I reinstalled several times (no mods included) and the same error happened. Anyone have any ideas?
