Guest e34p
Ive made changes to a map in the editor and saved it. The changes show up in the game. But when I send the map to someone else, it reverts back to the original map as if I'd never made any changes. This also does the same for unit children, lights and commands that I've changed.Does anyone know how to solve this problem? eyespy900
I think the person you are sending e map to needs to have all the files you have. Because lets say you have changed the light bar, the other person needs the correct v3o, skin and the correct prototype. Hope this helps
Guest e34p
They have them all. It's like the changes haven't been saved
eyespy900
Is the other person putting te map in the right place? I.e. is he replacing the map from a mod or is he placing in the original em4 map?
Guest e34p
I just send all the mos files and folders. But it's not just the map it's also any model files that I've changed in the editor, any children, lights and commands. They all revert back to the original as well
eyespy900
Have you sent just the files or have you packaged the mod up in te distort and then sent him that file? I don't know if this would make a difference but are you both using the same version of emergency 4? I personally use 911 global fighters for life
Guest e34p
Yeah both use the same version. I haven't tried packaging the mod in the editor. I just sent the files. But I have tried packaging the mod in the installer and the same thing happened

Guest e34p
Yeah I've done that then and it's made no difference. Still can't figure it out

Dyson
You both running the game as admin? It could be that the person receiving isn't so the changes aren't applied, just a hunch try somet like that.x
Guest e34p
Well basically it's two different accounts on my computer. They are both admins. But I have tried sending it to someone and the same thing happens.Dyson, you've done a sub mod before, how did you go about saving it? Dyson
Doesn't matter whether you're admin or not, make sure you run the game as admin that might be the issue
Guest e34p
How do you do that?
Dyson
Right click on the shortcut, run as admin, it'll ask you to confirm then it'll load the game or editor, try running the editor as admin, save all your stuff, then run the game as admin on your other account
Guest e34p
Ah ok I'll try that when I'm at home. Does that also mean I'll be able to save stuff straight into the mod files without having to save it to the desktop and then move it back into the mod files? RedHawk504
Yes and a No. You can save it directly to your mod directory if you have opened the program like Notepad or Zmodeler2 or Emergency 4 Editor as a Administrator.
Dyson
Rafael literally just had this exact same issue with our mod, running as admin fixed it.
Guest e34p
I just tried it. Right clicked on editor and clicked 'use as administratir' Then opened the installer as administrator and packaged the mod.It said it packaged successfully but when I installed the mod on another user account it said the mod was corrupt and when I opened it in the editor it didn't have any of the mod's stuff. Just the original game stuff.Any ideas?
Dyson
I think you need to do it all again running as admin, it didnt save anything
Guest e34p
But on the user account that I'm using to create the mod it's still got all the stuff that I've added and changed.
FInn Rescue 12
I have a Question, I change the map adding vehicles. How do you save the map. In the map editor I press save the map on editor. When I click ok a message comes up . Do you want to override the exsting map. Is that how you save the changes to the map and is that the same for F5 Editor. Changing out vehicle spots etc thanks."' rafaelmfernandez
Here's the exact fix for thisRun the editor as admin when your making edits, yes you have to redo everything , same happened to me. That saves your edits for others.
