Nobody92
Dear Los Angeles Mod community,After a few months of inactivity in the Emergency 4, i have installed it on my computer again, a few days ago - together with the Los Angeles Mod v2.1, of course. However, after a few hours of playing the Endless Free Play mode, i have encountered a "traffic problem". Basically, whole map becomes full of long traffic jams, which makes the game nearly unplayable. Not that i am a total newbie when it comes to controlling the traffic, but i simply lose all the will for continuing, when not even an ambulance car can access most areas of the map. I ussualy bring Police to all of the incidents, so i can safely redirict the traffic and let if flow normally, so i have no idea, where these traffic jams come from.I have been reading about this problem on this forum already, but i did not manage to find a clear solution for the problem. If i understood some of the posts correctly, i should edit the "fp_params_endless.xml" file, which is located in the "Emergency 4/Mods/Los Angeles Mod v2.1/Specs". However, what exactly are the parameters that i should edit (i can not seem to find anything related to the number of traffic) and should i edit them on lower or higher number?I would realy appreciate, if this thread stayed on its own and if someone could give me and other players with the same problem, a clear solution for this problem. If someone could copy part of the code that should be edited for less and easily flowable traffic, i would highly appreciate it!Thank you,Kind Regards! EmergencyFan97
Well, what I've noticed is that pedestrians tend to move into the street during incidents. Simply remove them from the street and your problem is solved.
Nobody92
Well, what I've noticed is that pedestrians tend to move into the street during incidents. Simply remove them from the street and your problem is solved. My main problem were insanely large traffic jams, not the pedestrians though.Anyway, i have already solved this issue. What i have done, is reduced the traffic and pedestrians a bit and now it is just about perfect. There still is traffic and pedestrians, but not enough of them to cause same mess as they have been doing before .File that has to be edited, is located in the "Emergency 4/Data/Specs" - "freeplayparameters.xml".<vehicletraffic factor="2.0"/><persontraffic factor="2.0"/>These numbers, is what has to be increased. Lower they are, more traffic there will be. You can edit them for all the time zones.Anyway, do not forget to backup your files before doing it, just in case anything goes wrong. Even the fire department and police have issues on woods map. If you fix all the paths than woods map will work fine.
RichManSCTV
Ive had problems with the same issue, esspecially around The Upper left hand screen area. Ill get somoe to acenetly block the intercection and then the whole town is gridlock.I also noticed that Vehicles on patrol will form a line and follow each other in one area of the city, when this happens jam ups also form. What did you increase it to? I understand this thread is old, but I'm having this problem and not sure how high to raise it to reduce the traffic jams at intersections.
