BritishArmyReserveCadets Posted June 27, 2012 Report Share Posted June 27, 2012 Yeah, i was reading through this paramedic app ive got on my iphone, and it says to only give to persons 16+ and always ask if theyre able to take it incase theyve got a weak stomach (can lead to gastrointestinal bleeding) and/or an allergy of it. Strange...Anyway, our First Aid Post treated about 100 casualties, absolutely manic, lots of drug use and overdosing - silly people. theocd Posted August 9, 2012 Report Share Posted August 9, 2012 It measures their pulse (top number: PRbpm - Pulse Rate beats per minute) and SpO2 (bottom number: Saturation of Peripheral Oxygen), which is the saturation of Oxygen within the patient's blood. If its getting lower than 95% you need to be putting them on O2. You can play with them though. BARC - if you take your reading and its 97%, breathe deeply and quickly, try and make it reach 99%, it does work - just try not to pass out £19.99 is very cheap, I hope it works, an ambulance quality one is £50+ Also, we've been told we have to use St John ones in Bucks so they're properly configured or something like that - a bit silly really.The OC-D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've been on duty with mine three times, never needed it.
