zmh3
Read today that Ford will no longer be producing Crown Victorias. The last one was made this august. The Crown "Vic" is the staple vehicle for many police departments across the United States. This will leave Ford without a V8 sedan for sale in the US, for the first time since 1932.I'm not sure if this will affect the Ford Interceptor, which clearly uses the Crown Vic model, (and is the, i believe technical name for the police versions of these cars), but if so how will this affect the fleets of US police depts? How will this, in turn, affect the future of modding in this game? The Crown Vic has been such an iconic police vehicle, i can not begin to imagine a US police force without one. What vehicle will fill it's place? Its been the standard policy of using american made cars, will this remain the same, or will depts. look across borders to find a new staple?Thoughts?Article link: http://autos.yahoo.com/news/r-i-p--to-14-cars-and-trucks-for-2012.html
billyfromhill
I think most agencies will keep them in service until they decide it's time to replace them."American made" is sort of a misnomer. The Crown Vic, Chevy Impala, and the Dodge Charger are all made in Canada.
