Hero540
Hey folks.I'm new to 911 First Responders, and I don't really remember how I learned about it, but it looked like good fun, especially with the LA mod, so I went ahead and picked it up and installed the mod. No problems with the game or its operation, or the mod. And I'm having lots of fun. That's definitely not a problem. The problem I'm having is in freeplay. I'm new to this game, and I'm not good at multitasking or RTSs because for me they run too fast with too much to manage. This is starting to become the case in 911 FRs.I've done some Google searching and browsed the forums, but to no avail. I'm looking for a way to slow down the frequency of the emergencies in freeplay.Does something like this exist? Is it even possible to change the rate at which they happen?Basically I just need time after the first emergency so I can clean it up and get squared away before another starts. It's frustrating being in the middle of a giant fire and having a giant car wreck happen at the same time. I'm just not skilled enough to do so much at once. If I could tackle one at a time, I'd be happy.I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, or if a mod like this exists already, but I've looked and didn't see anything. Thanks in advance! Sawdbuster
well, I know the speed off trucks needs scripting to change, but the freeplay script starts as soon as the game/map opens, and there's almost no way to change it, are you playing Endless game or challenge because challenge just keeps throwing missions at you like the is no tommorrow
Hero540
I'm just playing endless game. I love that they allow a sandbox mode, but I think too many emergencies happen at once, at least for my noobiness. Nothing like trying to control a fire that is taking up 3/4 of the map, and having a massive carwreck happen, that then has a car explode which then starts another fire. Now the whole city's burning, lol.But if it's hardcoded into the game, I guess I'd just need to get better at multitasking, lol.
erfd
Its very possible to change it, I did it on my NY mod and LA Mod, I'll look at it tonight and post how to do it.
Hero540
efrd, you're amazing! I'm so excited for this. I really appreciate the help. I can't thank you enough. If I could just finish with one emergency, get my units squared away, and have like a 5 minute breather before something else happens, I would be the happiest nerd in the world. erfd
http://www.filefactory.com/file/cdb466a/n/fp_params_endless.xmlHeres the edited file. Place it in -mods-specs folder and overwrite the current file. Give about 1.5 minutes at the start and 1.5 minutes in between calls. If you want I can make it longer time gap. Hero540
erfd, once again, I cannot thank you enough! I'll go ahead and give this a shot. I have no idea how long between calls would be ideal, so if this isn't quite right, I may ask you for an increase, this is, assuming it's not too much of a hassle.Thank you thank you thank you! It's very kind of you to help out a complete stranger like this.EDIT: So I just played on the freeplay endless game for about an hour and I found it so much more enjoyable! I can handle the emergencies that arise, and I have a little time to spare before another one strikes. This is great, you set it up with the perfect amount of time. Once again I thank you. I believe this is solved.
erfd
No problem, glad it worked right for you. Wasn't 100% sure it would work completly right, because I was testing and a few events seemed to come quickly, but all the others had plenty of time to get units back/ patroling. Hero540
Yes, sometimes events still overlap, but its not often and only 2 big things happening at once is much better than 4 or 5 things.
