I noticed how he almost hit a church bus too.. - - Id a sent a unit to check them too - a church bus on the road at 1am?? Little late to be witnessing huh? lol

Love the chase though..

By bus.. i meant van...

it was January 3rd (4th since it was past 12 AM)...

and it was a group of kids comming back from a ski trip..

a City unit checked the area for the bus van.. but were gone.... BTW the chase was 31 minutes, start to finish, and coverd 21(actual) miles.

I'm an evening janitor/security guard at a high school, usually nights are incredibly dull (nothing ever happens) but yesterday I had myself an adventure:

I was doing my closing round at about 23:00 hours and I noticed one of the doors to the school garden was unlocked. I took a peak outisde but couldn't find anything so I locked the door and continued my round. Then I saw a ladder standing in the patio that was used to climb up on to the roof and I saw that a window was open near the ladder. With the garden door in mind I thought something of a burglary was going on or about to take place. I decided to close all the windows and take the ladder away so that anyone who was on the roof was trapped.

I walked into the patio and took the ladder down, as I wanted to go back into the school I noticed the door closed behind me, so I reach for my keys and I notice that the locks on the door have been replaced by a steel plate. There is no way I can open the door from the patio side! So there I was trapped inside the patio with only my keys and a flashlight. I started to feel a slight panic (what if someone is on the roof and what if I can't get out of here), but after about five minutes I got myself together and started looking for other open windows. And then it hit me: I could use the ladder to climb up on the roof and walk over to another part of the building where my collegue was doing his rounds.

So I placed the ladder back against the building and climbed up the roof, hoping nobody was there. I saw i couldn't reach the ohter part of the school beacuse I was on a lowe section of the roof. So I lifted the ladder up on to the roof and let it down on the other side of the roof. I climbed down and had to walk a long way to the entrance (with that bloody ladder, cause I couldn't leave it behind in case there where burglars). I still had my keys so I could enter through the main entrance and I was inside again. But man was I scared for a moment (both for the possible burglars and because I feared I my colleguae wouldn't free me from the patio).

Neither me or my collegue saw any burglars so we assumed that someone just forgot to take down the ladder and went home.

Now at the time this was NOT FUNNY AT ALL... But about 4 days ago the dispatcher cleared the air because the fire alarm was going off in the Munitions room of the West district station... needless to say THE WORLD WAS ROLLING.. all for a faulty 9v battery..

You could imagine my relief being the first on scene...

I have a story. I'm a security supervisor in michigan, and we have a furniture company that annually puts up tents with furniture on sale inside. I was supervising 9 different stores within a 50 mile radius. So I get a phone call from the (Name removed) police department about 30 miles away saying I need to report to one of my stores IMMEDIATELY. As I get off the highway, I see a police cruiser with the officer eyeing me and my uniform, and likely the amber bubble light on my roof (it wasn't lit up at the time). He pulls ahead of me and all the sudden there's another cop behind me. I get a phone call:

"This is Lieutenant (name removed) with the (removed) Police department. are you flanked by cruisers?"

Me(a little freaked out-"Yes, sir I am".

"Turn on your amber, you are being escorted."

So I do as I'm told, they turn their lights on, and I'm escorted to my store at about double the speed limit, with their sirens wailing and we're blowing every light and stop sign on the way there. we pull up and they are standing at my door before I open it. "Sir, we need you to speak with Captain (Removed). He's the commanding officer on duty." I meet the commander and he's FUMED. Our contracts are never armed (No firearms allowed). Apparently, this guard had a gun, and he was patrolling inside the tent. An officer stopped by to see how thenight was going, entered the tent, went around an armoire, and was met with the barrel of a handgun(Don't know what kind, they wouldn't tell me). So I got to spend 3 hours talking to officersand apologizing, file an incident report with my company, and then repeat the process the following morning with the Store manager. Looking back, that escort was the coolest thing I've ever experienced! I felt like the president for 3 and a half minutes. LOL

He: Yer,

Well i had to put this in - - There is to much to type cause to much happened,

We had to do crowd control & security at the fall festival for the county last week

we had over 60 Arrests, over 40 of them ran, and resisted so much i personally went through 3 things of mace

Negative injuries to any SO or PD, but it was insane.

Full moon explains it i guess - - because they literally were fighting back.

Yeah, life's funny like that. :1046275747_biggthumpup: Up here, there was some rioting after the Sox won the world series and 37 people were arrested in one night in the area of Fenway Park and a state trooper got his front teeth punched out, though, it was much quieter than 2004, when we made it to the playoffs and 2 people were killed, one due to the misuse of a pepper ball gun by the Boston Police.

Well heres the latest.

I'm on Tactical Patrol now, where pretty much we are the SERT or (SWAT) team divided up across the county on street patrol, just as the regular patrol units, only if all craziness breaks loose we roll.

With that said, you can picture in your head, a very military oriented form of law enforcement.

Did a traffic stop the other day,Reason for stop was swerving within 2 lanes

walked up to the passenger side of the car, while my partner took the drivers side

there was intense yelling coming from the car, and so we figured domestic on the road. right?

WRONG!!! after i saw the driver an elderly gentleman was on the phone i figured he was arguing over the phone , but why was his wife screaming too??

It was an elderly man and his wife, who thought... - - and get this.... - i cant say this without laughing

The elderly man saw us in our Tac Gear without rifles and vests, just tac pants & shirts, all the duty belt and so forth,

and literally i heard these words scream from the car, he yelled into the phone.

I looked at my partner, then looked around to see if I had missed anything... Looked left. No iraqi's Looked right, No russians.

We were good. - - Old guy thought we were in invading military force....

This is whats driving around the roads in America . I think he is still in the Psych ward.

Was in the 3600 block of Citrus ave last night around 0300... I pulled up to the street corner and parked slightly on the sidewalk and in a driveway to run radar. Upon doing this i heard a LOUD scream for help and a woman was sprinting towards my cruiser, My partner got out and said "He's running southbound!!" I pulled the car around to the back of the building he was running behind and hit the brakes, this guy had physically been slapping and hitting this woman for about 10 minutes prior to our arrivial.

When i got out of the car the guy pulled a knife on us.

Point of the story - - I got to use my new tazer last night... :1046275747_biggthumpup:

He went in, Assault & Battery, Solicitation of prostitution, Fleeing & Eluding, Public endangerment & Threatening a Police officer with a deadly weapon...

Cited the prostitute.

Thursday at about 2:40am

We were dispatched for a report of a Vehicle accident unknown injuries unknown entrapment reported car into a Pole.

I was first to arrive on scene with a car into a pole wires still hot and down.

I called county and reported that the occupant of the vehicle was gone on arrival. They requested the pole and the plate number

County stated PA State Police have already been on this call and are en route to the occupants residence. 10 minutes later PSP pull onto the scene with a drunken female who you could get drunk off her breath

Moral of the Story....Never Run from the PSP ...especially when u have a license Plate....Theyll Get you

Second ....no Amount of fire gear will keep you completely warm when its Negative Degrees.....

I'm a Resident Assistant at my college,

It's an interesting little job as a para-authority figure for you peers, which of course leads to so much fun ......anyways,about 90% of what we respond to are alcohol violations and probably 5% drug or sexual conduct and 5% fire and medical emergencies (including some interesting suicide attempts). Several months ago we had an extremely violent intoxicated resident. At the time I got a frantic phone call to head to the second floor of my building, so as I push open the stairwell door I get greeted with a chair crashing into the wall next to me. I hit the ground and started scrambling out of the way as the the other RA who was pinned down in the adjacent hallway called for campus security. We explained to them what the situation was and they told us they'd arrive as soon as possible (which usually is a few minutes). We scrambled to evacuate the few residents stuck in the commons room with our angry drunk, and tried to calm him down and in the process I got a table to the back, but I blocked it from hitting another resident. We managed to calm him down a bit and his friends took him back towards his room, so we could get him away from the other 50 people living nearby.

When his friends came back they informed us they had put him in his room and showed us which room they put him in....Of course, the wrong room. Right about then campus police arrived, and seven armed officers (mace and tazers only) plus a city police officer brought him to submission.After a medical evaluation later for his high Blood Alcohol and at the cost of four tables, seven chairs, a Television, and good solid bruise later,the incident was over..... till later, when his friends decided to raise hell and cause trouble because we got him arrested.

Needless to say he was removed from campus....and he didn't remember a thing the next morning ( always a good thing, I hate when I have a whole bunch of angry people holding a grudge living around me).

I am an Ambulance Paramedic in city with regional population of approx 100 000 people in rural New South Wales, Australia.

A couple of interesting events;

Picture an Ambulance responding code 1 (lights and sirens) to an incident. On the way an elderly gentleman steps out in front of the ambulance. Colleague driving the ambulance jumps on the brakes and the ambulance pulls up just before the gentleman, however, gives him a gentle nudge. Gentleman falls to the ground and looks up to find two paramedics leaning over him. His first words were "Gee, you guys got here quick!" Happy to say no injuries aside from a couple of small scrapes.

A young woman 'late teens' works at the bakery across the road from our Branch Ambulance Station. Pleasant young woman who knows most of our staff well. Recieve a call to an unknown incident at a residence one night. Arrive to find same young woman engaging in a romantic liasion with her boyfriend. Some unusual positioning led to the boyfriend dislocating his knee. Boyfriend in severe pain and still intertwined with girlfriend. Had to transport both boyfriend and girlfriend (sitting on top) on stretcher to hospital wearing nothing but a couple of ambulance blankets. Surprisingly the young woman left her job at the bakery across the road a short time later.

Alright so their are quite a few law enforcement stories. imma share a funny story on the other side of emergency services.

My shift as a firefighter/EMT in Chesterfield Twp. (Farely Rural town) started at 2000 hours. My crew and I did our rig checks and by approximately 2045 we completed the checks when wat do ya know, We get toned out for a reported structure fire. MY crew of 4 mounted onto our engine and responded. While enroute, Dist. 2 chief gets on the air "Central chief 2620 on location you can place all co. in service there is a glow in the sky from the end of the driveway. " So command was established at the end of the narrow ass driveway and as we pulled up (1st due), we were ordered to lay a dry supply line (5") to prep for water supply (we got none of those damn red lawn ornaments) While were were pulling up the driveway dropping about 1500 ft of supply line, I took note of the massive glow in the window but found it odd that their was no smoke coming from the house. Once the dryline was layed, 26201(ass chief) gets on the radio "26201 apon full investigation, that glow on divsion II is a high powered lamp. You can go ahead and recall this assignment" So im sitting in the officers seat with my jaw to the ground, half feeling like laughing, half feeling like smacking Dist. 2 IC. So long and short of the story, we had to pull our engine out of service until we were able to repack the 1500+ ft of 5". Wat a nite that was!!

Last Sunday we got a call for a housefire in an appartment building with one person still missing. A women saw smoke coming from the bedroom and she couldn't find her boyfriend. My partner and I connected the engine to a hydrant while another team went upstairs with an attack line (small hose). They tried to open the bedroom door but it was blocked by something, we thought it was the missing boyfriend, so we used something to bash in the door. It turns out that the door was blocked by dirt, the guy had a mariahuana plant in his bedroom. He just coverd the floor with dirt and put the plants in there.

We had much fun tearing the place appart (the fire was in the walls, so all the bedroom walls had to be broken with a crowbar to extinghuish the small fires behind it) and removing all the drug growing equipment (some of that stuff really weighs a ton!). But we couldn't find the boyfriend anywhere, so we suspected he ran away because he was afraid we'd find out about the plant, the assumption was correct: he was arrested when he visited the police station the day after to see how his girlfriend was...

The same day we also helped a lady that got her hand stuck in the antitheft mechanism of a soda machine. Her soda can got stuck and she tried to loosen it but instead she got stuck herself. We freed her by removing the springs of the anti theft mechanism. She was taken to hospital.

Ok so I got another fairly funny story (a bit embarassing for the medic crew). We responded (BLS) to a residence for a reported cardiac emergency. On arrival myself and my partner headed in to assess the patient. The patient claimed that he was having severe chest pains so I placed him on 20 liters of O2 via nonrebreather mask. We packaged the patient and began to head to the hospital meeting medics enroute. When we met with the medics, one of them got in to the ambulance and took the O2 mask off and switched it with a nasal canula at 20 lpm! I was so shocked. I asked the medic what the hell he was doin and he simply told me "administering oxygen". The elderly man then started complaining of severe burning in his eyes (ya think!? 20 lpm via nasal can.) I was just like wat a jackass.

When i walked up to the car - this man was wearing absolutely nothing and went on and on about how he was being summoned by "Lord Vader"

After K9 searched his vehicle we found 2 storm trooper helmets stuffed with the green plant....

That one thats illegal...

We have a few here too, it was new years eve when we got a call of an appartment fire. A fire had broken out and one of the residents (a woman) was missing, she called her dad in panic and he called 112 (the European version of 911).

While we were on route to the incident the operator contact us again stating that the neighbours called she was screaming she set her own house on fire because she was tired of the world or something. Just before entering the street, the operator contact us again: the woman was registerd in the police archives as a complete lunatic that attacks people with knives. We got really nervous then but decided to go in anyway.

We entered the building and saw the fires were allready out (she had set fire to the curtains, but nothing flammble was near them). Then the exciting part started: we had to search the appartment for the missing woman. My partner opened the door and I held something ready to knock her with in case she had a knife. We had to open four doors, especially the last one was very exciting, but the woman was nowhere to be found. When we did a sweep of the surrounding buildings we found her on a neighbouring balcony. It took 4 police officers to arrest her and take her down.

She was arrested for arson and the police tried to find her psychiatric help. We packed up our engine and headed back to the station. As we arrived at the station our ladder truck was just heading of to another call of a big fire in a neighbouring city. We cleaned up the vehicle and went to bed.

But man, what a call!
