emergency4freak
Well, I am an Auxillary Organist and Pianist for St. Albans Anglican Church near where I live (I can't get any other job because of my age) but here is my story...One day, I was playing the organ at the sunday service, and I was playing the prelude (music while people are coming in). As I changed manuals on the organ(manuals are keyboards) I heard a large honking noise from inside of the organ. I stopped playing, but eventually continued. People later found out that the pipe was missing, and that the honking noise was all of the air trying to reach the pipe, but failing... that may have been boring but...oh well

Guest Copcarman
I'm a Security Guard for an Alarm response Company in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.(We get calls and respond out to an alarm ringing or whatnot)One day, around 10 PM or so, I get a call from a house that's about 2 mins away from me, so I punch it to get there(whilst obeying the traffic laws, not like I can actually afford to pay the ticket), and see a guy carrying a stereo out of the house. Here's the kicker, not only was he drunk, but he was pantsless. So I go up to him as calmly as could be, and ask him; "Hey, where'd you get the sweet TV?", and he said "I just robbed it", "Oh? Would you happen to notice the uniform i'm wearing?". He takes a good look at me, and decides i'm an authoritative figure. So out comes a knife, and he lunges at me. So out comes my extendable baton, and CRACK goes his kneecap. He was still standing, and he still had the knife. So CRACK went the other kneecap. And down he went. I figured then would be a good time as any to call for PD and EMS response. Reporting "Suspect down in the commision of a felony". PD came, took a report, got back to my central, my bosses took a report. Lot of paperwork was filed, and everything was done with on my part. The lesson is; Never lunge at a man with a baton. Guest CHP
I'm a police officer in NY. Work with NYPD Higway Patrol Unit 2. Recieved a call from dispatch informing me of a city officer requiring assistance with a possible DUI suspect. So I head in the direction of the officers position to find him following a grey four door Dodge Diplomat. I take the lead position and we proceed to light up the subject, suspect is unresponsive at first, so I use the vehicles PA system to call out to the the driver: "NYPD Highway Patrol, Slow your vehicle, and pull to the side of the road." At this the driver hears my call and the wail of the sirens and flashing of red and whites, and does as I command...He pulls off and I inform the city cruiser to park his unit infront of the suspect vehicle, I light up my Mcdermott Highrise warning system, complete with traffic advisor and approach the suspect car. Just as I begin the quesioning of the suspect, a semi misjudges his direction and scrapes right along the side of my cruiser severly damaging it, and locks his brakes causing the biggest lot of smoke I ever seen!! So I move as quick as I damned could away from the path of the rig wjich missed myself and the suspect car by only a few inches. I hand off the DUI to the city officer, and I run to check the status of the rig driver, who was shaking like a leaf by this point, turns out he was busy rolling a joint, I get a wrecked cruiser and two arrests in one sitting. Not the most fun story, but it goes to show of the inherint danger police officers and emergency crews face every day. Scared the crap outta me. Guest Copcarman
Got another one for you.Yes, I still have the same job.Anyway, I was going to work, and my partner calls me up, asks me to get Mcdonalds on my way, since there's a McDonalds at the metro stop closest to my work, I agree to go. I walk inside, and the first thing I hear is someone yelling at someone else; "NEXT TIME I SEE YOU IN HERE N****, IMMA SHOOT YOU". And that made me flinch, because here I am, with none of my equipment, and a jacket with "SECURITY" on the back in big letters(thank god for my backpack). Normally I wouldn't flinch, but this is a bad area of Montreal, so I do my best to hide any indication that i'm a security guard. I eventually pick up the Big Mac after paying for it, and walk away as quickly as possible. The lesson for this story; Please, Please, PLEASE never ask me to get you Mcdonalds at that station again. Guest SHERIFF05
Same Job SheriffGot a call to assist FHP troopers with a DUI checkpoint nothing more was said or requested - all the dispatcher could give me was that they needed the closest available units asap - and NO ONE could get ahold of them via radio after that - so i responded code 2 (Lights n Sirens) with my backup about 3 minutes out - - as i pull up to the scene there are 13 detained subjects on the side of the road and NO troopers to be found... There are 4 FHP cars and NO troopers to be found... I call for my backup and still NO TROOPERS to be found.. Finally i look down in the ditch to the right and notice something flashing - its a radio with the red light blinking as a response to the Officer Down button being pressed, I wait for my backup and he gets to play babysitter, by this point 4 more Deputy's arrived and we began to search for these troopers... we get about 30 yards down the road and theres another radio... more FHP arrives and we still cant find these 4 damn statee'sSo after about 20 mins we run into them 2.4 miles WEST of the original scene - the suspect had attempted to drive off due to a warrant and 2 troopers were pulled with the vehicle trying to get him out and so they managed to get into the truck and fight this guy along for the ride while the other 2 chased on foot - which is who lost their radiosMy question was... - - Where was the other troopers' radios...and what the hell happened in that truck for 2 MILES???!??!?! LMAOlol Its a longer story but its 0330 and i need to get some sleep..Peace..Got a good one ill post tomorrow
Guest Copcarman
Some people just don't like Authority. This morning(Sat Feb 10th) around 11 AM(GMT -5) or so, I was responding to a residential alarm going off, there were a few people on the sidewalk milling about. I open my door(Passenger side), and get out, and as soon as i'm fully out, I see something out of the corner of my eye. I flinched away from it, but it still hit me in the face. Some guy, like the guys who try to act like a major rapper even though they're white, decided it was a good idea to punch me. For no reason. Luckily, the reaction I had threw him off balance and he didn't hit me that hard, even though it's enough to bruise. So I reacted like any kind-hearted civilian in montreal would do. I broke his arms. And one kneecap. My partner bruised three of his ribs, I think it was. Then we called for PD, and EMS. PD came, we gave them the full report, and EMS hauled him away on a stretcher under PD escort. I'm going to have to testify in court. In the end, the house we were visiting was okay, the wind set off the alarm.Lesson for this story; Do not take people by surprise. Soldjaboy
Job: Firefighter Here's an event that I'll always remember. It was my first actual fully involved house fire. I had just got through covering my buddy's shift, or part of it at least, and was going to take a shower. It was around mid-night, so I figured that I'd take one and then hit the rack. Well, as soon as I got in the bathroom, county EMS got toned to a house fire. Our fire district exceeds the city limits, so when there is a fire in our district outside of city limits, we have to call other departments in the county for their tankers and any pumper that can show. All of this happens within the first couple of mins and we're usually there pretty quick. Anyways, I remember him saying that he was going to tone out the fire department. So, I'm sitting here expecting a tone to go out for us, and it doesn't come. I knew damn well that it was in our district. He (dispatcher) tones out the wrong fire department, which is 10 miles away. He then tones out another fire department that is even farther out. Finally, 10 mins later, he tones us out to the fire. So, I haul ass back to the station and jump in the Rescue truck (Engine was already full and en route). We're on our way and I said "Did anyone catch that address?" By that time, we all just noticed a bright orange ball. It was the house and that house was f'in HUGE. I jump out of the rescue and run to the engine for air packs. It looked like a war zone. The home-owner's vehicles exploded while we were running to the engine. Me and three other guys are packed up and we grab a hose. We make entry to the front door and we start on an interior attack. We're trying our damnest to save what we could of the house. I look up at the door frame and see the top of the porch starting to burn. So, I pull the guys out of the entrance way because I'm not feelin' too well about the structure. We couldn't ventilate it through the roof, because it was a tin roof. So, it basically turned into a giant oven. Too make a long story shorter, it turned into a "surround and drown" situation. It was the first house we had totally lost in 3 years. The home owner found out about the dispatcher's stupidity and is suing the county for a lot of money. Here is the funny thing, though. He isn't getting a dime out of it probably. He had a dog kennel in the house for the winter and put a heating pad for them. One of the dogs chewed the chord so he threw a blanket over a naked wire. All of the dogs fried, to say the least, since that was where the fire started. It took us around 3 hours to keep the blaze under control and keeping it from spreading. Guest SHERIFF05
Well my Cruiser is in the shop today getting a new windshield - because about 3 nights ago i was running radar off of 3rd st. Which where i was sitting i was like a little inlet off the sidewalk - so i would have to cross the sidewalk/median in order to pull after a vehicle - So its like 3:30 and NOT A CAR on the road... Im just sitting back enjoying my view of the ocean waiting to see headlights - when all of a sudden...BANG!!!!! and SMASH goes my windshield - i almost jumped right through the roof of the car. - So when i got out - Weapon drawn i hear moaning and groaning -... Some guy slammed into my cruiser full speed with his mountain bike...and broke both his legs in the process...... :6: you would think as a Deputy Sheriff - You'd find trouble.. But 90% of the time - (and all you officers know this) It finds you...So far in the past month thats TWICE my car has been a literal magnet for criminals... or has been run into.....SHERIFF
Guest CHP
Too true, too true...Trouble finds us pretty police officers real easy. For example, i was standing wth my partner and a small group of other officers, was lunchtime, just eating a hotdog grabbing a bit of chat. Radio comes to life, officer in foot pursuit of a shoplifter, possibly armed, two blocks or so away if I recall correctly, we heard on the radion 3 cars responding and thought, if it gets any closer we'll head that way. 5 - 10 mins later we see a man fitting the suspect description running toward us, and low and behold a fleet of 3 officers on foot running after him, and an RMP rounding the corner. This guy hadn't noticed us group of 6 officers standing 100 yards away and keeps running, just to meet my partner hands as he tries to go past, ends up against the wall eating brick with 6 sidearms pointed at his head...the look on his face was priceless!! His exact words being " What the F**k? Where the hell did you assholes come from?" By this point the other officers had arrived, including the shift supervisor...much to his and the suspects' dismay, turns out the subject was the supervisors son...Tough luck son!Goes to show, you never know who you're dealing with. Guest Sir Stan
I guess I'll join in the fun. I'm an 'armed armored truck guard' in Montreal, Quebec,Canada. I work for a fairly known company called Garda. I sit in the truck with a rifle and talk with others and eat most of the time. But one day, we had to get a damn huge amount of money, something like $640,000. And the way it works, is that there's differently sized/equipped armored trucks for larger amounts of money, and there also has to be more men in the truck when there's a larger sum of money. So there was about 3 of us in the back, 1 driving, and 1 in the passenger seat. We were stopped in the valet parking area of a fancy-ass store. We had the back doors open and we were just smoking, talking, etc. Then all of a sudden, a man runs out from the underground parking lot and starts charging at us with a wooden stick. It looked like a broken piece of a wooden broomstick or something. We're not really authorized to shoot as soon as we see that kind of stuff, so we stood our ground as the guy ran at us. He jumped in the middle of us and yelled madly at the top of his lungs, but he wasn't doing anything. Just standing in the middle of 3 armed guards holding Ruger rifles(somewhat like a hunting gun, but with a magazine), just screaming at us. But as soon as he swung(at me, the lucky one), a hail of gunbutts came down on him. We later called the police and EMS and he got taken away. We got a 'protection bonus' from our chief. Guest SHERIFF05
:stupid: What an idiot... Check this out Last week we had a suicidal i got called to - and of course i drew the lucky straw to go and talk this guy down.before SERT got on scene.. So i went up and i got up there and behind him on the ledge was ANOTHER person that none of us saw which i thought was strange cause in the low lighting i could tell he/she had no shirt on... so i start talking with him a little bit from about 30-40 feet away - and the glare of the FD spotlight and the Helicopter overhead was beaming so much i could barely see him - so long story short - hes jumping cause of his paycheck at the grocery store was jipped 30 dollars... so needless to say i spoke common sense to him and was able to talk with him in order to get him to come down - so i approach him (mind you im the only one up there) SERT STILL hasnt arrived... so all of a sudden i take like 2 steps and he SCREAMS AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS!!! WAIT WAIT WAIT.... You have to take my girl down first.. i said ok.... this apparently was the person to his right NOT wearing a shirt. So you can imagine my thoughts.. - And this all happened so quick i didnt even have time to talk to the other person - so i come up with another officer and i grabbed him - he grabbed the girl. i cuff him and bring him inside the window - and the other Deputy there starts laughing hysterically and says to the girl - hey you MUST use Trim spa huh? or Slim fast? - she was quiet - i looked back and it was a friggan blow up doll....... it AMAZES ME that we didnt see this earlier but with the glare - there was NO way to see.... needless to say - i gave the guy 30 dollars to get into my car and go to jail.....and just to be nice - -I gave him 2 phone calls.... dburson
-- Working as Sheriff Reserve Deputy on Patrol---Takes place, 3rd shift (01:10 hours) in the West part of Wichita, KS.My buddie and I were patroling on our beat boarder in West Wichita, KS. We were going North on a main road, and chatting about stuff (women troubles)....As he is looking down at his phone, texting his new "buddy" and driving (i was steering from the passenger side), we passed a car that had caught my eye. It was a small 4 door, darker car.. What caught my eye, was the driver side brake light, and whole back right side of the car was busted up.. Looked fresh.. (the area has a few different bars near where we were at)... I bring this to my partners attention, which shocked him, because he missed something.. and got a 1/2 block away in the wrong direction, when he turned on the guy..THe guy turn right onto a secondary road way, and sped up rapidly... As we got to the stoplight, he was already 1/2 a block away, and gaining on us..We started closing the distance in the 2004 Crown Victoria, and the dude turned a sharp right into a residential area... As we turn the corner, I activated the emergency lights, and siren.. and called in to dispatch.. "1, dispatch, we have a car high rate of speed trying to loose us........" The dispatcher came back.. "10-4, where you at?".... I had no idea.. and our speeds at this time were 60 mph in a residential area, with cars parked on both sides of the street, with an occasional road sign... I finally caught a glance about 1/2mile after we started this fun adventure.. We approached a stop sign, and we are about 4 seconds behind this car now... He RUNS IT.. and almost sideswips a church bus... We stay on his heels....He takes us down some main roads, then onto another 2ndary road.. Hits a spike strip, ... then gets on a dirt road.. "BLACKS OUT".... and hits another spike strip...He then gets to a high way.. on 3 wheels.. goes East, in the West lanes.. , then drives in the median, and head on into(EDIT: Towards) a civilian pickup truck.. He then takes us onto another dirt road.... into a residential area.. only "THROUGH THE YARDS, and WOODEN FENCES!!!"... We get back on the dirt road we had just gotten off of a few moments ago.. and goes into a different Paved residential area.. He is going abuck 10.. (110 mph) towards the end of the road.. and there is a barricade, of haybales.. and a gaurd rail.. (the gaurd rail is like what you find on the high ways, with 4x4's in the ground, and the hay bales are rectangular.. stacked 6 high, by 4 deep..)... He drives RIGHT THROUGH IT!! and into a field...We follow him right into this field, and my seat belt comes undone... :6: and now i'm hitting the roof of the car as we are bouncing through this field..... We fly up a ditch, back onto a paved road.. and almost strike another patrol car head on... The guy still has no lead on us...We go through a MAJOR intersection, which by this time is full of other patrol cars, and he drives around the spike strips (another felony for the books)...We go another 3-4 miles, through a couple of other residential areas, all with curves... almost hit another couple of crazy city officers, and finally come to a stop, 4 blocks from his house....He puts his hands up.. on all 4 rims.. sparks flying, smell of brakes in the air..... rolls to a stop... The SGT drives in front of the car.. and we all have our guns pointed in his (mainly at the subject in the car) direction... he looks at me, and freaks!...My parter pulls the driver out of the car, and body slams him to the ground, as 4 other officers and a Kansas State Trooper move in the cuff the guy.I'm the lucky one who gets to ask him... "Why did you run? I was only going to give you a ticket for the busted tail light.."He said .... "I wanted to finish my Smirinoff first"..... .... sure enough, I search the car,.... and there it is, and empty 6 pack, with the bottles in it on the driver side floorboard.....
