WelshManDan
I have major graphical problems when improving my settings from all low to high. I will say that on Low the game runs fine and is perfect, but this is what happens when I turn up the settingshttp://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1325/em42011012414113560.jpghttp://img833.imageshack.us/img833/4614/em42011012414140658.jpgSo that is on high with all shadows enabled. I will admit that this is probably my graphics card, which is an onboard Intel Express 965 (however it has no problems like this in any other game)http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/6127/em42011012414141961.jpghttp://img52.imageshack.us/img52/7268/em42011012414143119.jpgSo whats what happens when I turn the shadows off, notice that I can actually see the details now, but there is an extremely weird graphics problem. When I turn down my Color Depth to 16 bit this is what happenshttp://img513.imageshack.us/img513/4369/em42011012414151726.jpg----------------------------Now, I can live with the game on Low details, however I would really like to improve my Resolution. I have tried all of the explained solutions in this forum and others, but it seems my problem is different to what these are solutions for. http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/4452/em42011012414163087.jpgUp to 1280x1024, and the resulthttp://img651.imageshack.us/img651/2956/em42011012414163867.jpgAnd incase you think I have zoomed in to show detail, this is what the game does by itself when I change the resolution. Has anyone had this problem? I cant even move this zoomed in section, but I can still move the mouse and select the options (albeit I cant see them thanks to the zoom level) When I change the resolution manually in the em4.cfg, my game no longer runs (I have to run it as Admin all the time anyway. More details about my system - Vista Home Premium 32 bitIntel Core 2 duo T5550 @1.83GHz3.00GB Ram Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family (and yes, I have the latest drivers)-----------As I said, I dont mind that much about the graphics problem (but would obviously like to improve the settings), the real problem is the Resolution. Cheers!-WelshManDan
WelshManDan
Any ideas at all? Can anyone even help with just the resolution problem at the bottom?
WelshManDan
Could a Moderator lock this thread? I found out a way to fix this, I changed the various options (RES=1440x900, 32Bit etc) in the Winterberg Configurator, then launched any other mods and they run with the settings No errors! Xplorer4x4
Could a Moderator lock this thread? Why? It hanst violated any rules, and it could potentially be useful to some one in the future. That aside, yeah...get a video card, not an on bard GPU. These suck period. Even something like an ATI 5650 which is a cheap investment, and probably replaced by a 6000 series card I am not aware of, is a great investment compared to the junk chips Intel pushes out.. WelshManDan
True actually I just meant that it served its purpose, but I can see that it would be useful to others. And yeah, unfortunately its a Laptop, so im screwed with it really :/ cant change any of it except adding more RAM, which is the one thing that doesnt need upgrading :/

WelshManDan
Hmm I havent got any ideas how to solve it, rather than the accidental way I did.Try downloading the Winterberg mod, then when your in the configurator, change the resolution to whatever resolution suits your screen (or a scaled down one)and then save the details. Launch the winterberg mod and see if it works (it takes a long time for mine to load past the black screen, literally 10minutes) if the mod loads with no errors, exit to desktop and try launching other mods/the original game. Only solution I can think of

You need to manually edit the em4 config file(x_res and y_res i think) to match your monitors resolution.
