Odds are tall people get away with illegal activity, hence crime exists, if every drunk driver got caught then people would not drink and drive, but most get away with it so people continue to do it... Add in most places the penalty in the US isnt overly severe for a DUI (without any accident anyway) most DUI drivers are repeat offenders. There's nothing wrong to call someone to pick you up at the bar if you're drunk... In the next few years the line between right and long won't be so fine for you and you will discover that the law isn't always something you will want to agree with. Still, I think generally most people really don't like the aspect of drinking and driving but typically after enough drinks you lose self control and the things you would normally never do are often done.
