Newfoundking Posted November 2, 2010 Report Share Posted November 2, 2010 My guess is the fact it didn't get enough use, costed to much to use, or both.Fuel for that to get from lower manhatten to upper manhatten would be probably a hundred dollars for a round trip. Plus for the amount of use, it's a burden on the maintenence crews. Plus it wasn't as useful as everyone would like to think, not in a big urban centre like NY, where the whole city has hydrants everywhere that can easily be hooked up to in the event of a fire...
