Grim_Wizard
Wow that had to have been hot, you can see the houses across the street reaching their flashpoint and combusting just from the radiation and that metal garage door was molten. Would've been near impossible to get near.
LT.SacFD
Yes. That was a horrific accident. 50 homes were destroyed and 130 were damaged. Amazing what a gas leak can do to a simple suburb.

fire explorer
Yeah I live only couple miles away.....The thing that sucks was that the fire ball was so hot and big that for a good hour or two (PG&E couldn't turn it off) that the firefighters (at least 6 alarms and CAL fire sent 25 engines, 2 air tankers, 2 attack planes, and 1 helicopter) couldn't get close to any of those houses. Even if they could, with that main spewing the gas they fireifghter wouldn't have been able to put it out.

Grim_Wizard
Unfortunatly, if you're right next to the flames, there's not a hell of a lot you can to, it'd be to hot to leave.
