helljumper51
Hello Everyone, Here is the Deal. I am working on a project for my thesis. The project involves making a mod for this game. So I need Anyone who is interested and good at scripting, skinning, or modeling, to contact me via email, PM, or AIM. This project determines if I get my degree or not. I am given an allotment of funds to produce this project and I will PAY for all services rendered plus you will get your name on it. If anyone is interested or wants more details let me know.NOTE: This is the Emergency! Mod I started awhile ago. I just got back from deployment so i have time to work on it.Respectfully Yours, Eric Smith

helljumper51
Hello,My Name is Eric Smith. I am a Junior Officer in the US Navy and I am working on my Computer Science and GSAS(Game Studies) Degrees. For my final thesis I am required to do a project where I am the team leader on building a video game and I have to lead a team into creating a game with a set budget. The catch is that i am not allowed to work on it, but I have to find people to work with me to make my *Vision* come true. The project I am working on is a mod for EM4. I have a Modeler and Skinner. But I require a Scriptor. I was told you were the man to go to as you and your team have proved the impossible with the game engine. Most of the scripts I need are small and have already been implemented in either the New York Modification or the LA Mod. If you choose to help me with this project all I would ask is several small scripts that are not very complex. I.E. Sending a vehicle back to the fire station, Call units from other stations, Multiple fire stations, etc. The project I am working on has a concept design I had to get approved by my professor. Its includes all Fire and EMS vehicles from the TV Show Emergency! I already have almost all the models completed(I have a man working on it) and almost all of them ingame. I just need a scriptor. I was given a small budget to create this game by the school. I would gladly pay for your services for your troubles. If you are interested feel free to contact me. If not then thank you for giving me your time.Very Respectfully,Eric Smith

Ami89E1234
Lol a mod isn't a true game but like I said, I could still help with scripting too if need be.
helljumper51
A true game can be anything. A mod can be a true game if it differs from its host game completly. the LA Mod and New york Mod and Winterburg Mod would all be considered game themselves because they change so much. They just use the EM4 engine which alot of other games do as well. Settlers 7 uses it. Mods are just free to use.
Guest Francis
Lol a mod isn't a true game but like I said, I could still help with scripting too if need be.Not be to be mean or anything, but I hate scripting with other people. Really.
Ami89E1234
@helljumper: I know that, but the Emergency! Mod isn't that big lol.@Francis: Get over yourself. Mostly I'm modeling, UVMapping, editing game files, and using the editor/adding things to the game. I just volunteered. Besides, I wouldn't even do the same scripts you would do. Guest Francis
@Francis: Get over yourself. Mostly I'm modeling, UVMapping, editing game files, and using the editor/adding things to the game. I just volunteered. Besides, I wouldn't even do the same scripts you would do.That's not the problem, I do scripts and I hate having to take time and see if there are flaws in other people's scripts. I have had teams which used to script with me and I've fired them all because I could not be able to revise their work easily. Also, about the thing that you wouldn't be making the same scripts as I do, it can't be true. I do any kind of scripts really... There is only two or three people here on the forum who know my scripting knowledge. When people script, I cannot be certain that they did everything the way I love things to be arranged. Scripting is the same way as modelling, it's the way you want to do it that describes you. If for example I hate having comments every line and you like to do such, I will not really be pleased if I have to go through your scripts to find problems. Another example here is described as if you'd prefer having multiple command scripts for a single one with different child IDs.
Ami89E1234
Well I'm still trying to see if I can't make the game work with LOLCODE so then I'll really be good at scripting.
Guest Francis
Well I'm still trying to see if I can't make the game work with LOLCODE so then I'll really be good at scripting.LOLcode is nothing like a real scripting language... this can barely be used to script console applications, and I say barely. C++ is much more powerful in any way.
soulbody
C++ is the best scriptlanguage, there are so many options and most easy to understand (still hard but it is easier)
Guest Francis
C++ is the best scriptlanguage, there are so many options and most easy to understand (still hard but it is easier)Of course not. C++ is one of them though. There is no best one. Each one has its particularities such as faster processing but less functions and such. A bit the way you can compare ASP.Net with PHP and SQL.
