SWAT Units - worldwide -

Recommended Posts

A "Riot" Squad is not a a Swat or SRU. Only half of Riot Squads may have some kind of training. But nothing like a Swat. Most of the time they are standard officers with shield, clubs, tear gas, helmets, and a heavy coat.

Deploying a Swat team to a riot scene makes the public upset most likely. Give the police bad media reports.

That why Police don't deploy a Swat to a Riot scene. Unless it a super huge city wide riot. But they don't use heavy fire arms still.

He should lol. If you've ever seen the music vid for Donkey Rhubarb you'd know what a Pedo Bear is and it would make it funnier.

I know the pedo bear meme. I'm no internet simpleton, I just don't see how Stan having sex with underage girls is pertinent to the topic.

We have "Karhuryhmä" (Bearsquad).

1523798-400_bandidos.jpg

Their equipments are:

H&K G36C as assault rifle

Remington 870 as shotgun

H&K USP as pistol

I dont remember, what sniper.

And:

Teargas grenade

Bearsquad consist normal police officers, who wear SWAT equipments on them when situation needs it. If they need helicopter, they loan our border guard helicopter, because Finnish police dont have own helicopter.

Unfortunately i didnt found their vehcile's picture.

yeah, we have the same,.. our "SWAT" dont do riot - for that we have units called Intervention police,.. they have better training than normal police, but that is nothing in comparation with "SWAT"

I live on Long Island (in New York) and we don't have real SWAT teams per se. Instead each of the 2 county police departments as well as some of the larger town and village police departments have an "Emergency Services Unit" that combines heavy weapons support with rescue (ex. car accident extractions, confined space rescue, etc). Officers have access to MP5 SMGs, M4 carbines, etc but their main focus is rescue and unusual calls. I believe they also handle HAZMAT and explosives as well.

Im from Montreal,Canada

Here we dont talk to much about our S.W.A.T because they want to keep their operation secret.

They mostly take care of hostage situation, baricaded suspect ,bomb threat , biochemical bomb and they also take care of water rescue.

I could'nt find any picture so here is the english link to my police departement, this link will bring you to the many police units we have in my city.
