  1. Good News! I have permission from Hoppah to release some other models. Hopefully I can get them ready real soon.
  2. The Secret is that Gold looks red in a certain lights, it's used by a lot of federal police agencies around the world.
  3. I haven't had too much time to look yet, but I'm gonna guess New Zealand for now.
  4. @Shane and billy I'll keep you guys posted on everything since Hoppah is out sick it may take a little while to hear from him. The AMR fix will be really easy to implement, It'll just involve swapping out the .v3o fro the ambulances body.
  5. Hey Shane and everybody else, I'm in the process of editing a new version of the AMR skin and will release it to you guys as soon as it is done. I've also asked permission from Hoppah to share some other vehicles I've created for a sub mod. So, pending his approval, would you guys like to join forces of some sort. The other vehicles are all miscellaneous units from around LA, so we could just create like a separate download with all of them if I'm allowed to release them. I'll provide support for my models and scripts. Let me know what you think.
  6. Bring it on Agentsmith, I've been honing my skills while I was gone.
  7. I know the Columbus Ohio Aviation division officers carry fire arms... I've seen their choppers before and there are rifle ports on the copter, but I would highly doubt they ever use them. A helicopter would make a pretty poor shoot platform, as it can only remain stationary for a little while before it risks crashing to the ground. Also even if it is hovering, the rotor-wash could probably play real havoc with a bullet. I do know the use the helicopter to transport sniper teams to higher elevations. And with that being said, I know the United States Coast Guard has a specialized rifle which basically helps automatically stabilize it. The use it to shoot out the engine blocks on drug runner boats. I'm sure you can find a video of it in use somewhere. I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. Are you asking about what the plane is doing, or how would emergency services respond? I don't think there is any special name for that, it's just an emergency landing (albeit computer generated) on a highway. Pilots of smaller planes are told to try and land on highways, because it is an ideal surface, and space (actually the U.S. interstate system is designed to be used as a runway in a national emergency, the autobahn also). I don't know if they advise larger planes to try that, since I'm pretty sure they won't fit, Normally they try to land in fields or water. As for what would emergency services do, well...... If they had advance notice they would try to clear a stretch for the plane to land. The only time I've ever heard such a call, only local emergency services were called, no specialized ARFF vehicles were dispatched. Mainly since hose small planes don't carry to much fuel, so two engines carry a small amount of foam are more than enough to deal with any fires that could occur. Most fire stations, that I know of, that are anywhere near an airport, normally when I've heard of this happening it occurs near one, carry a modest supply of foam on their trucks, and some aluminized turnouts.
  8. Hey everybody, I'm looking for people who can help me put the finishing touches on a few skins/units I've created. I'm looking for: Someone skilled with Z modeler: The work is very minimal ( I have bigger ideas, but those can wait, and only if you're up to them), I think it's just a matter of altering the UV-mapping ( I don't have zmodeler, so I don't know for sure)on one or two models. Someone skilled with photoshop: This will be a little more intensive, I'll need you to make the portraits for multiple units. If you are interested please PM for the details. Of course you'll get the finished products for your time, and hopefully the rest of the community a little later.
  9. My apologies if I offended, based on the above, I simply thought the mod team was having trouble thinking of a way to make it work/ have it utilized in the mod.
  10. I doubt that they would put it in the mod. I was simply giving them an idea of how to implement it into the game since they couldn't think of a way to implement it. Also if you play with the settings and alter resistances to make it more realistic, you do have occasions where need to rehab fire fighters. Even with out the editing there still are sometimes you could need it. Who knows they could add it to the game, heck I and many others suggested the heavy rescue, and begged and pleaded for Hoppah to add it. Personally I never thought it would be added. So who knows maybe they will decide to add it.
  11. I support the move for a crew bus, the van is an easy reskin (i made one a while back based on the corners van). The crew bus will add more depth to the Forestry Service assets available. Off that topic but still on this: In terms of the rehab unit, I've played with the idea of allowing it to replace injured emergency personnel. So basically when a firefighter get's injured, he can enter the rehab unit and a time bar like the one for decontamination will appear, at the end of it he pops out fully healed..
  12. Ok before I post I need to make sure this will qualify: THis department is composed of specially trained professionals and nonprofessionals who volunteer. And they recieve reimbursment for expenses only when deployed....So does that count?
  13. Since I know Mike is really busy, I figured i'd answer your question since I've seen it refered to on other forums. This was the reason given by a Firefighter on another forum. "What makes wood so good is, believe it or not, they withstand flame impingement much better than aluminum. Wood will char but it takes some time for it to burn to the point of total failure. Aluminum on the other hand will soften and it may not be noticible until it fails. Aluminum will fail long before wood burns through. Many times a wood ladder that has been exposed to flame impingement can be simply sanded down and the wood visibly inspected and the ladder might be able to back in service. An aluminum ladder would need to be taken out of service and may have to be replaced even if there does not appear to be any damage. Wood doesn't readily conduct electricity like aluminum. And in all reality, a well maintained wood ladder just looks so much better than aluminum." The maitenance is very heavy duty on the ladders, which is their primary drawback from my understanding. There's also an article out there I've seen about the ladder crafter....I'll try to find it again
  14. Its a bigger City not on the west coast, the big clue will be the patch
  15. Ok Just looking for City, State and Department... But here's the real question...what were you doing in warren?
  16. Something like that. I don't know for sure, since that's Hoppah, MikeyPl, and MikesPhotos call
  17. Well, I know it's EmergyCare and from Northeastern PA I'll get you the exact in town in a bit --Well I'm gonna say it's from Warren, PA-- (At least that's what the engine in back looks like) I know it's not from Erie Yep, Medic 93 a Paramedic Response unit from Emergycare of Warren, Station 30
  18. According to reliable information sources it contains: -Hurst tools (Jaws of Life) -Hurst rams -Acetylene Torch -Heavy-lift Airbags -Cribbing -Rotary Saw It's Staffed by two men, one trained operator and another Firefighter
  19. That could work, I found this one on the LA CERT web page. As for the heavy rescue. excellent job, I'm glad to see it in game. - I know from photos the boom rotates at least slightly more than 180, probably not 360 though. (even if it did you wouldn't want to put it in a position with the boom forward too often.) -It also carries extrication equipment, and is not tied into the maitenance division...So it doesn't repair trucks The City of LA has maintained heavy duty vehicles like this since after World War II. It's purpose is not to tow, but to lift. In a lot of metropolitan areas it can take extended periods of time( two to three hours) to get a heavy duty tow truck on scene to clear acccidents. This allows them to efficently clear a scene until tow companies can arrive, and prevent more traffice issues. It is also proven useful for USAR activities since it is more crane than tow truck.
  20. I finally got around to playing 1.7 today, and got one decent screen. Hanger fire at LAX
  21. Well, there is the one and original SWAT tank..... Bertha, -Well i actually believe there were 2, and note the smiley face on the ram-
  22. Well I'll take a stab at this, After alittle bit of searching I'm going to say it is from the Quebec Fire Department.
  23. That will do.. The truck is identified where I found it as part of the queensland rural fire service... but you're answer's correct
