Most likely they were sticking around to monitor for any hotspots to flare up. It's pretty standard on larger fires, also depends on the department procedures.
-
Absolutely incredible Tim... you should take it beyond a game I'm sure companies would be interested in the program.
-
Since the LEV is now out in Hoppah's submod... I believe we can get rid of this mod? Adminsdo as you wish.

I have no issues with the types of calls, it was more the information being exchanged across main channels by the LAPD. Normally big cities I've monitored before tend to leave more graphic details of active crime scenes on private channels. Personally I'm used to that stuff, it doesn't particularly phase me, I just want to make sure I can find less descriptive dialogs to present for those who may be offended.

complaint: 9th big project in as many weeks...I still have another 20 or thirty hours to put into too... Non complaint: three more weeks of hell and I will have survived the hardest term of school in my life. (I'll even get to sleep again)

Notice though no LAFD listed channels only LACoFD.... You can find streams of it but they are discouraged strongly by the department. In terms of the LAPD thing: lets just say there were some shootings, some assaults that were not very nice, and a hit and run drunk driver being identified by what was stuck on his car hood, I'll leave it at that.

Interesting article, I did not know FDNY Firefighters could write parking tickets... The FDNY EMS division has a truck called WMD-1 as well as trucks called LSU I was wondering if people had pictures of them or knew what LSU stood for.

It seems Hoppah's submod is taking longer then I thought, I can produce new files for 1.9 if you want, but school work is going to have me tied up until at least Tuesday afternoon.

He's stating that in general it's been said at least 15 times. Not just this topic. Suggestions like that tend to appear frequently. Some members just get very tired of hearing them and tend to snap back at someone when they propose them again. It's really nothing personal at least from my standpoint when I've done it, and i assure it isn't from theirs either.

I've added more to the list if anyone knows If I've misinterpreted something let me know Dispatch Terminology Slightly Offtopic: LAPD Dispatch is dark... I'm not gonna post any of it unless I can get a very PG section of transmissions

Rosenbauer Question? Anyone have a picture of the FDNY WMD unit?
-
I'll try, but LAFD makes a big deal about streaming audio from their dispatches or distributing recordings. I'll explore what options are available.
-
My brother went to LA for business for about a week... He always takes his scanners, I loaned him my computer with audio software to record it. He recorded individual channels in prime hours so I have LAFD, LAPD,LASD, LACoFD, and even ANF dispatches to go through.

Dispatch Teminology: LAFD Units: "Rescue #"= Ambulance (used much more than "RA" is) "RA #"= Rescue Ambulance (Used by other departments in the area, not LAFD) (as mikesphotos has posted BLS are distinguished by the number 8 before unit number) "Light Force #"= Light force (1 engine, 1 truck) "Task Force #"= Task Force (2 engine, 1 truck) "Engine #"= Engine "Truck #"= Aerial or Tiller "USAR #"= USAR Truck "Squad #"= Hazmat Truck "Heavy Rescue 56"= Heavy Rescue 56 (The Crane) (Still not sure on the Brush Patrol I've only heard it on scene or informally dispatched) "Boat #"= Fire boat (I've only heard calls for the smaller boats but I assume it's used for the two large fire boats as well) "Fire #"= LAFD Helicopter "Dozer Tender #"= Bulldozer Tender "Dozer #"= Bulldozer "Transport #"= Bulldozer Transport (also used to transport disabled units) "EMS #"= EMS Captain "Battalion #"= Battalion Chief "Prevention #"= Prevention Officer LACoFD Units: "Rescue #"=(I'm guessing it's an ambulance dispatch since they don't have rescues, but I could be wrong) "Squad #"= Squad (HES) "Patrol #"= Brush Patrol "Engine #"= Engine "Quint #"= Quint "Truck #"= Standard aerial "Copter #"= LACoFD Helicopter Other Misc: "PD"= LAPD "Sheriff"= LASD "Park Ranger"= City Park Ranger "DWP"= Department of Water and Power "DOT"= Department of Transportation (Parking enforcement, sometimes sounds like they're calling for "DOP") LAFD Slang: "800" or "8 Run"= BLS call or unit (not used in the actual dispatch, but used in other communications) "Traffic"= traffic accident (used in Dispatch "Light Force X, RA X, Traffic at...") "Eval"= Paramedic evaluation run (used in dispatch "Engine X for Eval") "PR"= Person Reporting "OCD"= Operations Control Dispatch (their Dispatch Center) LACoFD Slang: "Informant"= Caller "LA"= Dispatch LAPD From what I have these seem correct LAPD Radio Codes (also I'll check with my one professor he was with the LAPD as a homicide detective, see if he can fill in any blanks on dispatches) Still not sure "Risk" "Fire Watch" "Natural"= Related to medical calls I think overdoses I'll post more as I come across them, i have a lot of raw audio data go through

Take it jab

Nice work If you're interested I'm have some actual LAFD OCD recordings, If you want to hear them to get an idea for LAFD dispatch style let me know.

BUMP!!! Anyone up for reviving the game?
-
Depends by area and department in Ohio we did ride alongs and safety demonstrations as explorers. In Pennsylvania the minimum age for certification is lower, so there was more legitimate training, and often actual duties at scene (primarily medical). In both places we would fetch tools, assist in crowd/traffic control, etc.

You will need to edit the names of the textures in the v3o files to the renamed textures for Engine 51.
-
Also stick around for a while even if you miss the truck, that way if they call for manpower and/or a second truck it can hit the road fast. Drives me nuts when guys take off after the first truck leaves, so when the additional call comes in it takes another 10 minutes to staff up.
-
At lot of places I know, will bus in riot police from a precinct or another meeting place. The officers drop their cars off there.
-
I assume you mean they took the audio off the videos...That has nothing to do with the Mod producers, it has to do with the artist who created the music.
-
I resent that one...I probably wouldn't have before I started studying Intelligence though.

Ok, Who's still up? (assuming it's late or very early in your time zone)
