  1. I think I might have seen one of those ambulances responding before. I could tell it was a box ambulance (unusual for the West Midlands), but didn't see many other details besides that.
  2. I don't think they have scripted engine sounds(although those are possible to an extent).
  3. Also, you put Newfoundland is the oldest city in this side of the world.. if you mean the Northern Hemisphere, then that's completely wrong xD

  5. Now, you must download the Updater from the Winterberg website. http://forum.winterberg-mod.com/portal_module.php?module=67 At the bottom, click Winterberg-Updater. Place this file in the root folder of your game (in the same folder as ModInstaller.exe), then run it. It's a good one gigabyte or so download, but it's worth it

    I see you have white lights in the back of the police car, I believe that they actually use red and blue in the back of NYPD police cars (law only denies front-facing blues, not rear facing).

    Well, normally ambulance doors are open at scenes anyway The passenger door is ajar as well...
  11. Don't need to constantly shower them with flowers :\ I think you should make it into a different mod, maybe a Canadian mod ... there are already lots of New York mods, but go ahead.

I was just thinking about that, with hydrants you could make it so when the user clicks on a hydrant within a certain radius with the command selected, a firefighter "belonging" to the vehicle (one which will (hopefully? :3) automatically get back into it before it goes home) takes some hose, connects it to the fire engine, and walks over to the hydrant. They then crouch down and all commands are removed from them. That, or you could make them unselectable.
  15. Thanks. Ambulance work. Unfortunately the blue-prints are actually for the Renault Master, which has a different grille, but I should manage to make it have a Movano grille
  16. Ah, very nice idea Francis! I don't know if you meant this (did you?) but you could have one child for each number 0-9. Then you randomise a number, add it to a global array (so that you don't get clone units), and parent the children to the ambulance accordingly That would be great and wouldn't add too much extra size to the mod (you only need ten one-polygon model files and you can use a single 256x256 texture (or smaller) for all the numbers). It also would mean you don't have to make new prototypes/models for each unit. Hope it makes it into the mod
  17. Ah. I have a little idea. It might take away a bit from the realism, but maybe all mentionings of "343" should be removed? That way it seems less odd

LED rotators are the future of rotators, as they can change colour quickly, are brighter, use alot less power, last alot longer, etc, although personally I feel rotators are just generally outdated. Why have a rotator, when you can have a cylindrical LED array with the same function but less power usage and much less noise?
  19. So, will you be having lots and lots of ambulance models with different unit numbers, or if you dispatch lots of ambulances, will they all be Unit 343? Nice picture by the way.
  20. Today, I saw a Volvo XC70 RRV of the WMAS responding to a call (I saw an ambulance on blues as well when I was alot further down the road, don't know if it was going to the same call). It had a Whelen Freedom on it instead of what I have now, so I'm going to give my XC70 that instead (for now, atleast), because it's bigger and easier to add polygon lights to So I will be able to have nice-looking lights after all. Also, I noticed that the blue lights either side of the rear numberplate are present on all WMAS vehicles and are always on (no flashing at all) when the other blue lights are on. Also found a nice gallery: http://staffs999.fotopic.net/c1402442.html Unfortunately, as usual, the Honda CR-Vs have an Arjent LED lightbar... all the ones I see around here have all-LED Premier Hazard LoMaxes. Also, it looks like our normal ambulances have hacked-up Whelen Freedoms all over them (just because of the size of each LED block looks like the same sort of size as a Whelen Freedom LED block, guess LEDs are LEDs, or maybe they do get the lights from Whelen).

    NYPD cars generally have red/white (with an amber arrowbar) FS Visions on the top and two large red grille lights. The headlights flash too. Sometimes, there might be flashing lights at the back (For Chevrolet Impalas, the reverse lights are sometimes flashing), or behind the rear windscreen (these are usually blue and red).
