Agreed. Manufacturers of prebuilt computers cost more because they need to pay for other things, such as staff, servers (for their websites), taxes, bills, etc..

Also, apparently GTA-4 sucks on ATI cards, no matter how powerful (someone had two 6970s in CrossFire and still suffered from poor graphical performance). Haven't tested this myself, but thought I'd warn you.

Yeah, our USAR trucks have a canteen attachment too (we call them the Welfare Units). They're only meant to be dispatched to long calls, since the firefighters will need energy to keep doing their job for the whole thing. They're also there to keep morale up (I think ours have TVs for this purpose too). I suppose you could include micro-management at that level, but it might get a bit difficult to deal with, having to ensure that your firefighter's needs are satisfied when you have to handle so many on those calls.

I got that call a few times. The first two times, it spread through the forest. The first time, it CTDed after I tried to dispatch every single available LHF. The second time, I managed to put it out. The third time, I managed to keep the fire from getting that bad in the first place ^^

Also, a patrolling feature for the police would be nice. It's difficult to solve some things when the guy is on one edge of the map and my police are on the other.. :>

They should really wear the full suit. Hair (and possibly saliva) will contaminate the scene, as well as footprints, with those shoes

Few things: - When a coroner is called after a death, three vans are dispatched, despite only needing one. - Police should be able to do basic treatment. Maybe you could give them fire extinguishers too (paramedics as well), but add a limit to the extinguisher, at which point it will not work anymore. Other than that, it's fantastic. Surprisingly, it's extremely stable on my slower computer (AMD AthlonX2 4800+ 2.5GHz) , and very unstable on my faster one (possibly because the game is designed for mid-/low- end computers and lacks support for many 'high-end' things). I haven't had a single CTD from this computer yet, and I've played for hours

Yes, I thought as much, it seems more like a software problem. This is my first ATI card in a while (the last was probably about 7 years back, and I had problems with it so I moved to NVIDIA, which seemed to have wider support. I moved back since this ATI card had the best performance of any of the cards I could afford at that point), so I don't know what to expect from it.

Hi, for some reason I can't run Emergency 4 in windowed mode.. when I try, my computer freezes, blacks out and then the video drivers crash with an "infinite loop error" regarding ati2dvag. I can run newer games (which are far more demanding) just fine, and fullscreen works too. I tried to find solutions on the Internet, but all I found were outdated solutions for AGP cards. The reason I want to run it in windowed mode is because my monitor uses an aspect ratio of 16:9. Emergency 4 does not support this, and if I try to force it to using the config file, the display is stretched from certain angles, because it's still trying to display it at 4:3, just stretched across a 16:9 screen.. So instead, I'd like to just run it in windowed mode at the highest supported resolution. Also, alt+tabbing from my game in fullscreen causes a big graphics glitch, so I have to kill Firefox and restart it if I want to use it I don't know if it's heat, since the extremely clever manufacturers seem to have forgot to put a temperature sensor in it (can't get the readings from it from any of the software I've tried) ¬¬ it shouldn't be though, since I can play all my newer games (Arma II, Battlefield Bad Company 2 etc) at highest settings for ages without a crash. I did have an NVIDIA card before I bought the ATI one, but at this stage I don't really want to have to uninstall everything and then reinstall it again just so that I can use a driver cleaner (since I have an nForce motherboard chipset, so a driver cleaner might mess the drivers for that up) except as a last resort, since Emergency 4 is the only thing which gives me crashes of any sort.

I don't think the Winterberg crashes are similar. I haven't had a single CTD yet, except from trying to restart the mission without restarting the game (although I've had one freeze from jumping the camera across the map, but other mods aren't any better here and it's probably hardware related). Also, the only major pathing issue I've encountered is the one at the top-right corner, where vehicles trying to get somewhere will try to drive down some pedestrian pathway and through a queue of people.

The game is a bit laggy on my computer (although I haven't experienced any crashes with it), so it might be a bit problematic for slower ones.

The Tutorial mission works fine, but when I choose the Freies Spiel mission, it crashes half-way through loading, running Emergency 4 Deluxe. I have tried reinstalling the game, and it still has issues.
