Sorry, but I don't know if that's true, due to a lack of photos or other proof and because I've never seen it in real life either. I think you are confusing it with Yorkshire police. Different fleet. Yorkshire cops have plenty of Volvo V70 traffic cars.
-
Don't really know what it is, but according to Wikipedia, it's just a group which consists of three West Midlands region police forces. I don't think the police cars look any different.
-
Although maybe it's good if you want to learn German. I might run the game in German again.
-
Yep, but I don't feel I will put in too many, especially as police chases can't really be done. They are referred to in the first post as "RPUs". That stands for "Road Policing Units". The ones included here will be a Range Rover SE and a Volvo S80 (or S60, can't remember). About the sirens, maybe, depends if I will record my own or digitally recreate it somehow.
-
Although the English one is a bit out of date - made before the required surgery event. The surgery event's string IDs are WIB_WD_NOTOP (the event name), WIB_WD_TOICU (the hint that appears) and another one I can't remember.
-
Probably a traffic car.
-
So there will be no scripting, just a new map? That is fine for me, I am just wondering. You could maybe ask some other modders like Hoppah or the creator of the Winterberg mod for help.
-
What was the car's model? Where did you see it? I could add it to the list if it's WMPS. Also, I could probably add the Peugeot to the game, purely for variety. Then I'd employ a dispatch system where you have a few people who dispatch the various vehicles, as found in games such as Hamburg mod and Winterberg mod. I have another question regarding objects, how difficult would it be to program a gate, like the ones found at train tracks, for the police station, and garage doors for the fire station and ambulance house?
-
Couldn't you give them a weapon like a pistol with a different model?
-
It's possible that it's just some sort of high visibility paint, but I don't see why only some cars would have it and some cars of the exact same type would not.
-
Yes, that colour.
-
Well ... Imagine that, except where the main body colour is yellow instead of white. I saw one earlier, and I've seen them patrolling, the one earlier pulled over a car (damn thing nearly ran me over as I crossed the road, because it suddenly turned its lights and sirens on when at the lights).
-
I just have a question .. what are yellow police cars for? They might be traffic cars, but they're also E3s ...? Also the reason I wanted to know was so that I could give people a reason to send the smaller lifeboat instead of the larger one besides availability.
-
Very nice mod! Although I can't imagine the police would close the entire road off (or even just that side of the road) unless someone died there ..
-
Thanks for returning the thread to topic pyrothijs. Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think these exist in or are planned to come to the West Midlands. As for the RNLI lifeboat, I probably will add that, thanks. Don't see why not, the map will probably have a river anyway, especially if it does turn out to be the default map with modifications. Can the smaller one travel faster than the bigger one, or ..?

Yeah, I'm thinking about putting a bomb robot in, I don't see how hard it could be, just use a model of the bomb squad robot as a bomb disposal person and don't give it any bones or anything so that it does not move like a person. Then it can be taken around in a van. Would be cool to also get it to not be counted as a casualty if it ends up blown to pieces

That's even easier to do because hostage situations are already in the game. I wonder how easy it will be to put all these models into Emergency 5 when it comes? (OFFTOPIC NOTE: for those of you who don't know, "Emergency 2012: Die Welt am Abgrund" is planning to be released at the end of this year. Despite its name "The End of the World" in English, it's apparently going to be another normal Emergency game. Hope it has a better optimised GUI - seriously, I think that rendering the commands interface has a worse effect on the framerate than the rest of the game! /END OFFTOPIC) So yeah hostage situation in the bank would be cool. There was a robbery at a bank down my road too a couple of years back, in Kings Heath.

You do need to export it as a .v3o.

You must mean the Scania, that's what that is, yes it is very well made, unfortunately it won't be used in the mod as I think it's the one make of firetruck WMFS don't have. Also, Land Rover Range Rover in progress now too. I can take out three birds with one stone here, I guess, because this Range Rover will be used by the Highways Agency and by the police as an ARV and as an RPU. There's now a list of planned personnel in the first post as well.
-
Yeah, I thought that too, but I can't get the fireman on the ladder to go inside the building .. he just tries to cool it with water. Once you have put the ladder truck by the window, on the ground, what do you do then? Also I found out what you do with the bleeding patient: 1 - call the Trauma Team to move him onto the stretcher. 2 - call the surgery op team to move him into an operating room and operate on him. Done!

See naw? The onomatopoeia is not see naw, it is nee naw! Thanks for all the comments.

Yeah .. take statements after a crash to help find out who is to blame. Thing is, anything is hard to script if you don't know the way the game interprets the language which I don't
-
1 - Not really, but I think it's very unlikely that I'll get any scripters and I don't really have it in me to work out what everything means and try to do it myself .. there ought to be some sort of scripting wiki. 2 - I mean that when you've finished the Sabre (if you are going to make it at all), maybe it's an idea if you still need something to do to try putting it in-game. All those questions are answered in the first post, but I'll answer them here anyway - yes, there will be Armed Police in the game, with cars such as the Land Rover Range Rover SE as their vehicles. The West Midlands County Air Ambulance will be featured in this as well, along with a new police helicopter. As for the raids, yes, that's a good idea. Like in Winterberg mod, maybe a message could come up at the top saying "The police has a warrant on a man suspected to be in possession of firearms. His location is now known and has been marked on the map. Raid his house and arrest the man.". Could get a kind of forensics thing going on, whereby after you have raided the house you must send them in to secure the evidence - firearms, ammunition, whatever he might have of interest. Should be possible to script an object which, when interacted with by forensics, disappears, and then once all the objects have disappeared, and the man has been taken into custody, the task ends successfully. Maybe I won't. I probably won't be able to do it myself. Thanks for the praise, as well. Also, the Vauxhall Vectra doesn't seem to exist in the West Midlands Police fleet, but you can just pretend it does, right? There will still be the ones that do
-
Another brilliant find, thanks, I will update the original post. Also, if no-one can or will script, then I will just release it with the games scripts, or maybe try and get permission from Hoppah to use some of his scripts. Maybe you could try to import them and add the lights? That will give you something to do when you've finished modelling the Dennis, so that you can put it in-game.

Great find on that list!
