Guess the Emergency Vehicle Challenge
firefighter111 replied to Newfoundking's topic in [EN] Off Topic
I think this game is dead now that you can just drop the picture into google and it'll just give you the anwser, unless we find some way to prevent that. -
Why should they add something that's not even in service anymore?

Saint Louis Mo Fire Department -
I find it funny how they can have frontal nudity in the game but yet they change things like sexual abuse to "criminally abused".

Police or Paramedic (Thanks to all who voted, POLL NOW CLOSED)

You might also think about what you might want to do specialty training in. FDNY EMS has HAZ TEC rigs, which are Units that are trained to the Haz-Mat technician level, and carry basic Haz-Mat equipment so they can enter "hot" zones and treat patients. FDNY EMS also has rescue medics, who are trained in multiple disciplines of technical rescue allowing them to operate in high and low angle situations, confined space operations, and other similar situations. As for the NYPD, you can pretty much specialize in anything you could possibly imagine. NYPD ESU can do everything an FDNY rescue company can do besides fight a fire, Haz-Mat operations, and swat operations. There are also many other specialized units that do just about anything you imagine, so you don't necessarily have to go to school for law enforcement, since essentially anything can be investigated. I know a guy who has an accounting degree and was specifically recruited by our local sheriffs office because they were looking create an economics crime unit. -
Police or Paramedic (Thanks to all who voted, POLL NOW CLOSED)

It's because there's so many of both that there's no need for duplication of services. I once had an FDNY EMS officer tell me that you can throw a dart in any direction in NYC and hit a paramedic unit. Outside of the city, there are places where they have cops that are EMTs or medics but that's in areas where ambulances have prolonged responses. NYPD ESU are all EMTs and they have a few tactical medics, but they only don't run medical calls, they just use the EMS skills on the calls that they're assigned. -

I will warn you that in New York, both the city and the state, EMS is paid sh*t. I'm a volunteer EMT about an hour north of the New York City, but the paramedic services are paid. Almost all of the medics are working at least 2 ems jobs, including one I know of that has two full time medic positions and on part time medic position. As for in the city, a FDNY medic makes $59,079 at base after 5 years and an NYPD officer makes $76,488 at base after 5.5 years. Also, FDNY medics are considered a rank below fire fighter. That being said, FDNY medic doesn't require anything beyond a high school diploma, where as a NYPD officer requires 60 college credits, and any higher promotion requires more college credits. It's really up to you, there are plenty of FDNY medics that enjoy their job, as well as plenty of NYPD officers who enjoy their job, so do what ever you think is best. I know both FDNY EMS and NYPD do ride alongs, so maybe check with them, it might be a good idea so you can see what's actually involved in each job and then make a decision on what you want to do. -
I'm thinking it has to be something with L.A. Noire or the new firmware, cause my "fat" ps3 and alot of other "fat ps3 are having this problem. The best part of this is that both Sony and Rockstar's answers when email for support is to send you to a press release that says it's not their fault.
-
does anyone else have the freezing/overheating issue with this game? scratch that, I thought I was having the freezing problem associated with L.A. Noire, but I ran several other games on my PS3, including Red Dead Redemption, all of which I ran into similar problems with, so clearly, it's my consel. Update: I just sent requests to both rockstar and playstation support departments. It'll be interesting to see if they both say it's not their fault. I know it is because they're the only two things that changed before the problem started.
-
I am installing this game right now and am looking forward to playing it. I must say though that it was kind of surprising finding the second rock star game in a row with PS3 exclusive content.I'm not complaining, I just wonder why they're doing it. Maybe they have a deal with sony or something?

I will say this one more time, and then I'm just going to give up. Unless an ambulance has an FDNY 911 participating ambulance logo on the front doors (i.e. St. Lukes Roosevelt ambulances) then they don't do 911 calls, meaning they have to call the companies private number, and when does anybody bother to do that in an emergency.
-
But that ambulance doesn't do 911 calls, so what would be the point.
-
From what I can tell, they don't really have that many more lights than English ambulances. They both have a light bar, grill lights, surface lights on the corners or the box, and a light bar across the rear. Except for maybe one or two extra surface mounts on the rear and the flood lights on the sides of the box, they're pretty much the same when it comes to lights.
-
By boxes, do you mean the call boxes that are on some corners in NYC which have a fire and a pd option? If you do, they really wouldn't serve any purpose in the mod, since it's like a phone to call in an emergency on.

I believe you're talking about FAST (Firefighter Assist Search Teams) or R.I.T (Rapid Intervention Teams). They are exactly the sams thing though, just different names. What happens is when the IC (chief in charge of the incident) arrives on scene and the companies begin operating in IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) situations, one of the ladder companies will be held outside of the incident and they only do anything if a fire fighter goes down, otherwise, they are on stand by. This is originally what the rescues were developed for, but they have now developed into technical rescue companies, so now the FAST/R.I.T. is almost always the extra ladder on the first alarm.

Well I would believe President Obama, who's speech I sumed up, and I'm sure were going to see pictures, since the Muslims will want to see the pictures as evidence.

Bin Laden's death was confirmed by President Obama last night at approximate 11:30 pm. According to the President, he and his national security team received an intelligence lead on Bin Laden's where abouts last August. Last week, Obama felt they had enough intelligence to launch an operation. At some point yesterday JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command, a combination of all 4 branches special forces, rangers, seals, etc.) engaged in a fire fight in a strong hold in the Pakistani mountains during which time Bin Laden was killed and his remains were recovered by the JSOC forces. Congratulations to all of the members of the different armed forces fighting the War on Terror. And interestingly enough, May 1st also is the 8th anniversary of "mission accomplished"
-
Alot. I don't know that there's any official count of ambulances in NYC.
-
do you mean ambulance services that answer 911 calls, or just in general?
-
Also, why in the second refinery fire pic is the tiller ladder's ladder red?

I have two things on Med Evacs in this mod. First, with a hospital about every 5 minutes from every location in the city and no good location for them to land, med evacs are rarely used, as in basically never. In terms of switching the med evac from NYSP to Life net 7-4 or "Air 2", NYSP Life Guard 18 is closer than air 2 to the city and life net requires a 100' x 100' LZ at all times and any object 25' tall must be an additional 50' from the LZ, any object 50' tall must be an additional 100' from the LZ and on and on, and I don't know any place where that exists in the city.

Nice foam rig1 Quick question, will this sub-mod ever include places like Glendale and Long Beach, or are you focusing on LACoFD and LASD for the submod?
