  1. I belive that he ment that only west or virginia was in the fire department not West Virginia togeather.
  2. 1) go into my computer 2) click on the disc where the game is installed ex.: (C:) 3) click on file that says program files. 4) click on the file that says Wizard Works. 5) click on the 911 first Responders/EM4 file. 6) click where it says mods, and then click on whatever version of LA mod you want to install the new map in. 7) click on maps. 8) finally move the files from the map folder one by one into the mod's map file and make a back up of the original files, incase somthing goes wrong or you want to play on the old map again. that's how I do it.
  3. belive that w00d fixed that in the new version, but if he didn't then yes, you need to download both versions.
  4. I seen a begining of a tower ladder like this somewhere though I cant remember where. The easiest way would to e remodel the crane to work. Also, way that ladder is set up like a crane is a typical look for some fire apperatus manufactures, most leave the ladder like it would be on a rear mount.
  5. I didn't notice till after a few pages, and its not a big deal, excvept to me, because like I said, I kinda am OCD about thoes things.
  6. there is no door where the units come out from, and the rest of the doors are just part of the building skin so they are just painted there, that is why there are no doors.
  7. Just for the record, the guess on Hunter42 pics was wrong. I don't get how anyone, either Hunter or Davidotk thought that it was from the New York City Police Department when it has a New Jersey license plate. for the record the correct anwser is the Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) of New York, New Jersey, who protects all 4 international airports in the tri-state area (LaGuardia, JFK, Newark, and Stewart), all bridges and tunnels out of Manhatten, the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhatten, and anything else owned and run by the Port Authority. They also provide Fire and EMS (yes a police department who has police officers that wear bunker gear and ride in fire trucks.) to all Major Port Authority operations, i.e. bridges, tunnels, and airports. PAPD Pics I think I have OCD since it's been bothering me this long. sorry if I offended anyone, didn't mean to.
  8. Quick question for future refrence, are we allowed to ask for vehicle manufactures of the vehicles we post as long as it's obivious, or the info is on the web? For example (pic from www.ocnyfire.com ) example guess: Warwick NY Fire Department, Engine Co.3, Ex. engine 636, ward lafrance.
  9. is whoever's turn it is gonna go? or should someone just put up a new pic
  10. I'm guessing from what you said, LASD wears this type of helmet Thanks for the anwser though, I guess it depends on wether you usualy wear a helmet when you ride whenever.
  11. so people playing 911FR need both the deluxe and regular versions to use the map, or just the 911FR version? Edit: the anwser is yes.
  12. Mike, I noticed in your pics that the LAPD mounted officers aren't wearing helmets. Is this just because they were at the Air Heros Show, or do they not wear helmets when they ride at all? I know that it's not against the law out west where you are, but after riding for 10 years, I know I wouldn't ride a horse in a busy city without a helmet, even if I didn't have to wear a helmet.
  13. 99% of the time the color represents the rank of the person wearing it, at least in the U.S., I don't know about other countries. Yellow- Used on the west coast as the normal firefighter color, used on the east coast as either junoir firefighter or explorer, but some departments use them as firefighter helmet color. Black- don't know if it's really used on the west coast, used mainly on the east coast to symbolize the rank of firefighter. Red- again, don't know if it's really used on the west coast, on the east coast it primarily symbolizes a company officer. ex: Lieutenant of Engine 23, Captain of Truck 45. Aqua: rarley seen, used on the east coast to symbolize saftey officers. White: Used almost everywhere to designate a cheif at any level, ie: battalion, division, assistant... Also, some departmentshave all black helmets up to the rank of cheif with the sheilds symbolizing rank. Here's how the FDNY does it. Red Sheild with Firefighters name written on it: Probationary firefighter. Black Sheild with colored square and number: color is for the type of company, and the number is the company's number. Black: Engine, Red: Truck , Light Blue: Rescue, Yellow: Squad White Sheild with Colored Number: Lieutenant or captain of a company color of the number represents the type of the company and the number is the companies number.
  14. Most major cities in the U.S. (NYC, Baltimore, ect) use black turnout gear minus LAFD and LACoFD. Also the turnout gear is beige with yellow stripes not totally yellow.
  15. and if you want it black, just open the skins of unit's with turn-out gear, and where it's brown, paint it black
  16. I have two new rules that I think might be helpful based on the way this topic has been going recently, but since it's Newfoundkings topic, he has the right to do what ever he wants with these rules. 1. If you took the picture yourself, make sure that there are pics of the department/rig somewhere on the internet so people can have somthing to find, because otherwise only people who can reconize the unit from what they've seen in real life can guess the anwser. 2. make sure that there is somthing to go on because in Paranoid's picture, all there is is a yellow fire truck, and even on the 22" screen on my IMac, I cant read any of the decals or lettering on that truck, and also there is nothing to give away the location minus the one car with the canadian flag license plate, but that could just be a proud canadian native living in texas based on that pic.
  17. My last guesses on this one, since these are the only places that there is a bestbuy and a RENO togeather according to the store locaters. Ontario: Toronto, or Whitby Quebec: Gatineau, or Laval If I can only guess one though I guess Laval.
  18. City of Surrey fire department, Surrey, British Colombia, Canada.
  19. when is 1.8 coming out? just kidding, Great work Hoppah and Mike and congrats.
  20. there's not alot of air rescue period, and minus the few missions you need to hoist someone, it's not really included the game, so while the idea for the LASD air rescue unit to be included in the game is a good one, I think we need either LASD or coast guard, not both.
  21. at least give credit where it's due. Rescue 1 pics - rescue1fdny.com anyways, back to topic
  22. the airplane can't transport fire fighters, and it definitly cant land anywhere it wants as a helicopter can.
  23. I know at least the one station atthe bottom of the map in winterberg is a volunteer station, and when you send them with the pannel at the control station, soem civilians run in to the station, change into turnout gear and then get in the truck, so it is possible.
