why couldn't it function like the FBI command post, but for police?
-
that ladder truck is in the original version of the LA mod v 1.9. All you have to do is download Los Angeles mod v 1.9 and you'll have it.
-
Okay, I more ment why was the LEV put there instead of the actual LACoFD squad, but it's your mod, so do what you want. like I said, It's really good.

Great mod shane, I just had a few things that you can take if you want or leave it 1) On the dispatch, if your dispatching a whole station theyd just say station 10, ect, so technically your dispatch should say "station 10, station 51, ..." (...= units from station 36). 2)I'm assuming your a fan of Emergency! from the way you did the dispatch and made one of the stations station 51, so just out of curiosity, why is there no Squad 51? 3) you might want to add the units such as the battalion cheif, paramedic captain, and the fire captain to the fire station control panel, because it's annoying to always have to catch them, or send them to HQ after each call, and then call in a new unit from off map. Again, you can take it or leave it, your choice, and again great mod. @firemaster: the idea is possible, and has been done in other mods. check out winterberg if you want somthing like that.

edit: sorry for the double post, somthing got screwed up and I got a error message so I reposted.
-
Thats because Engine 51, ladder 46, and any other of the fire apparatus that were featured prominently in the movie weren't in service at the time. It was done that way so it wouldn't cause an uproar throughout the department that 1 specific house was the house in the movie, rather the whole department was represented.

Replacing a vehicle in one of the fire stations
firefighter111 replied to Hoppah's topic in Alteration Help
Here's the whole script. That's the line I thought I had to change based on Hoppah's post, but I guess I was wrong. -
Replacing a vehicle in one of the fire stations

From LAFireStationStart.script ActorList l7 = Game::GetActors(VO_AMBULANCE01); Shouldn't I just have to replace the number 7 with the numbers for the FF/PM and the FF/PM with stretcher? I tried that though, and I got an error message saying that the script is undefined. -
Replacing a vehicle in one of the fire stations
firefighter111 replied to Hoppah's topic in Alteration Help
I'm getting confused when I go to change the staffing of the new vehicle. I've replaced the BLS ambulance with an ALS ambulance atg station 2, but when I go to the LAFireStationStart.script, I can't figure out where to change the staffing. From Hoppah's post, It seemed like you just put in the numbers for the people you wanted, but when I do that, I get a message that the script is undefined. any ideas? -
what other types of ladders are there then ones mounted on turntables?

[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
firefighter111 replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
I'm running into problems with the unit pics when you bring up the menu to buy units. The area where the pic should be is white for all the units. All I've touched is the freeplay endless specs to edit the time between events and the amount of money you start with, and I installed the AMR ambulances. I had the problem before I made any of these changes though, so I don't think it's from any of them. The only other thing is that I have to make my screen resolution 800 x 600 pixles to make the game work, but again, I don't think that should cause a problem with the unit pics. Also, I some how ran into a situation where I was able to send the tiller back to the fire station with out deinstalling it, which I did by accident, and the truck pulled away from the trailer with another trailer attached to it, and proceeded to become a zombie fire truck. I was not able to recreate this problem, but if I do, I'll try and get a pic or somthing. Finally, this isn't really a bug, but I accidently called for another engine 2 which I didn't have on the map with the battalion cheif, but it still showed up. As far as I know the battalion cheif can't acll units in from off the map, right? -
you can use the same key, just download it again to your laptop.

When I watched that video, all I saw was Hoppah's work put on a map that Hoppah made. If he's gonna release that without Hoppah's permission, that would break the LA mod copyrite.

[vehicle]Engine 7 Fire Department New York

What's 112 best responders, and if you mean 911 first responders,it shouldn't need any scripting changes, since EM4 and 911 first responders are exactly the same. -
I've heard of the gauze for the head, but I've never heard of or seen anyone using gauze for the whole back board. That was what supprised me.
-
This question's aimed at mikesphotos, but anyone else can anwser it about where they live. I saw a video tonight about LAFD rescue ambulances, and in it, they had a shot of the crew tying a patient to a backboard with what appeared to be gauze, and I was wondering, to they really do that. I know that any time I'm on a call with my ambulance corps, we used spider straps (brand name) on our back boards, and all the other crews I've worked with or seen have used some type of straps. It seems to me that straps would be easier, and faster to put on rather than having to tie the patient down. I would think it'd also waste alot of supplies. Just wondering what other people did else where in the country.

Usually U.S. swat teams will repel down from the roof to go in a window, ladders like on fire trucks make too much noise.
-
I forget which file it is, but there's a file that contains your freeplay data, all you have to do is go into that file, find the min and max times between events, and change both to 200, that gives you amount an hour and a half game time between each event, which should be plenty of time. Not sure you can actually make it so no events pop up until after you finish the current event.

I'll say good job Hoppah now , and then again when the guys at Atari tech support stop fing around and get me the unlock code for the manual activation so I can actually play the mod.

For those of you who like to NYC's emergency services, there are to video series that aren't really known. The first is the inside the Inside the NYPD series, which is obviously produced by the NYPD, and and covers a special unit in each episode, through interviews, and showing training, ect. I like this series, but it's not as good as the FDNY series because it feels too scripted to me, and it also feels too much like a recuritment video. The second series, like I said above is the FDNY close up series, and it covers the different type of unit each episode, ie engines, ladders, rescue/squad, and ems. I like these videos better than the NYPD videos because they have an unscripted feel to them. Now not to say that they just show up at the firehouses with a camera and start interviewing people who have nop idea what's going on, but they just follow a company around for the day, and don't really edit what happens, unless it's bad (like cursing), or to save time (so mmost of the video isn't them sitting around the fire house). But if their in the middle of filming and the tones go off, the guy with the camera just gets on the truck with the crew and goes on the run with them. It makes for a better video I think, because what makes a more entertaining video, Rescue 1 responding to a real life report of an underground explosion, or watching an NYPD ESU team training cut togeather with interviews of NYPD ESU members? click the links below to see the respective videos. I'm guessing that He was trying for the french spelling which is bleu. @matt31896: why does that ladder have 3 mechanical sirens mounted on the bumper? I ask cause usually the sirens are mounted into the bumper and then that area is used for storage space, such as trash lines, pre-connected extracation tools, ect. I personally also don't see the need for that many sirens when you've gat a Q on the truck.

Paradise City Mod (formally DC Mod)
firefighter111 replied to bsbllthirteen's topic in Modding Related Support
I think somthing like Wayne NJ first aid squad's heavy rescue would be a cool unit to see in the mod. I believe it's an E-one combo walk-in/non-walk-in. The truck's got everything, from a cab that's part command center, part crew transport, the walk-in part set up the same as an ambulance for bls transport, and all the equipment they'd need for rescue operations (hurst tools, air compressor, ect). I'll give modding it a shot, I gotta find some time first. http://www.waynefas.com/Rescue976.php -
I think he means which ones will appear in the game, meaning if he doesn't install one, it wont show up on the map, and you can't call it from off the map. Now, I'm hoping that when Hoppah says that some of the old units will return, they'll just be added in, and won't replace anything, which is what I think is happening, but I'm not exactly sure, so Hoppah, if you want to clear that up.
-
congrats hopppah, you've done it again. Now a quick question on the speeding tickets, will you give any civillian car you stop a ticket, or will there be specific cars that are speeding?
-
well I went to the companys website, and saw what I think is regular EM4, but that's why I sent them the e-mail, because I could be wrong, and it could be deluxe.
