  1. their was a emergency 3 mod, and their was one in development for emergency 4, but I don't know if that ever came out.
  2. What is the difference between a rapid response ambulance and a ambulance, is the rapid response ambulance like a fly car
  3. If they can find a reliable good sounding NYPD stream, cause the Bravest.com only does FDNY.
  4. That's actually just a Braun Ambulance with a crew cab on it, and a few fire suppression tools, like a set of irons in the cab. The patriot however, actually has a pump and a tank and everything in addition to the crew cab.
  5. No, the idea behind Braun's rig at least is replace both trucks and combine them to one, so for example, a volunteer FD can respond to a call with only enough manpower for one truck. Braun Patriot product page and pictures
  6. Has anyone heard anything about the new Braun patriot model ambulance, it'll have a 200 gallon tank, a CAFS system, 2 1" booster reels, seating for a crew of 6, a full transport capable patient compartment and space to carry all the normal ambulance equipment, and space to carry light rescue equipment. It sounds like a cool idea to me, but I have to wonder, will it be able to do all these thing effectively, or will it end up like the quint and have to many thing to do any of them effectively. Also, another thing is that if you're using that as an engine and an ambulance the two jobs will interfere with each other, such as if you're at an mva and you've got a critical patient and this is the only apparatus you've got there, you can't leave the wreck their all by it's self because there could be a fuel leak or something, but, at the same time, you can't just sit their with a critical trauma patient. Also, if you were using it as an engine, and then you ended up having to do an immediate transport (i.e. cardiac arrest with cpr in progress), you'd still have to break down the rig before you could start transporting. What do you guys think.
  7. Once again, those are LED rotators, not halogens The only ladders with LEDs to the best of my knowledge are the new tower ladders, but their might be one or two others.
  8. Don't ask for release dates, you'll get suspended and the topic will get locked again. I came across this on another forum and thought the mod creators and anyone else who's an FDNY buff would be interested in, Pics of the new FDNY rescues in production. Ferrara in production page
  9. Sorry, I forgot. Here you guys go, and no, it's not as easy as it looks
  10. Engine 273 is the only engine to have the mets pin stripe design on it, I think that's why he asked for it specifically.
  11. In New York, ALS rigs only really carry drugs, and equipment for intubating. The rest of the equipment is basically the same as a bls rig.
  12. Of course NY has BLS and ALS. We have them throughout the entire state. The only difference between the ALS rigs in NYC and the ALS rigs in the rest of the state is that the city rigs are usually staffed with 2 paramedics and the rest of the state, it's usually 1 EMT and 2 paramedic. And in the city, the bls rigs do a lot more than they'd do else where, i.e. all trauma is bls since wherever you are, you're already so close to a hospital.
  13. unfortunately, no (at least not that they've revealed)
  14. The Mack wasn't destroyed on 9/11, the rig that replaced it, a 1996 HME/Saulsbury was destroyed on 9/11 along with the 4 other identical rescues assigned to Rescues 2-5. There are still some spare Mack rescues from that era, so I don't know if they got rid of the mack Rescue 1 or kept it and it's now a spare.
  15. I would assume that if they are all certified as paramedics, they can all do paramedic tasks, although I'm not really sure what the policy in LA is. I thought you were talking about the E-One Rescue 1, they've had a lot of rigs in the past few years because the rig that replaced the Mack was destroyed on 9/11 when it was 4 years old and was then replaced with the E-One rescue, which was also replaced 4 years later with the current Pierce rescue as an experiment, and once again the Pierce rescue is up for replacement by a Ferrara Rescue which is on order. Most companies only get a new rig every 10 years, outside of those that are destroyed, and usually, they stay pretty much the same, i.e. Segrave has been doing the same engine and ladders for them for over 10 years now.
  16. Nope, both LACoFD and LAFD run paramedic engines/trucks/light forces. It'd be a bit of a waste since the New Rescue 1 will be delivered in a few years.
  17. All FDNY Firefighters are Certified First Responders (CFRs), which in New York State, is lower than an EMT. They can't be in charge of patient care, and they're only trained in the basics of first aid and cpr, it's kinda like a step above having red cross cpr and first aid. All firefighters are cfrs or above, although they can only operate at a cfr level. The FDNY has the largest prehospital care system in the world, so the engine is really to basically help out the ambulance dispatched to the call rather than get to the call and start treatment before the ambulance gets there
  18. If you're going to be carrying it as an EMT, I would think about the Gerber Hinderer Firefighter Rescue Knife, rather than the CLS. They're essentially the same knife, except that the firefighter version is red with a silver blade and the tip is blunted, so you can be cutting around a person and not have to worry about the tip going all the way through what you're cutting and going into the persons back and injuring them even more. It's what I carry when I ride EMS.
  19. You can change that on the other control panel, it lets you put in the time of day, and if you want real time or accelerated time and then you can control how much time is accelerated by.
