Nope, and future reference for everyone, look at what it says on the front of the truck before you post a guess saying it's a sheriff's truck -

Why would you guess it's a sheriffs vehicle? It clearly says police across the front. Here's a hint: It's in the south east U.S., also the department logo is visible on the side. -

It's a 2005 Ford Crown Vic Police interceptor used by the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's office for patrol in Sagadahoc County, Maine, U.S. Also, your not supposed to ask for a purpose, cause not all of them are obvious, so please don't do it in the future -

It's a 2004 Carmichael 6x6 fire truck with a Ziegler brand body from Indonesia, Bekasi, and has been for sale since 9/16/10 on autoline.info for 205000 EUR. http://autoline.info/sf/municipalutility-machinery-fire-truck-Carmichael-6x6-10091611512801500600.html -
Actually CCFD covers the north part of Las Vegas Boulevard, up by Nellis air force base, but all the casinos are on Las Vegas Boulevard South, which is right in the middle of the city making it LVFDs district, although I could be wrong though, if jkj10 wanted to tell us who covers that part.

He's right, ladder 4 has a q mounted right in the center of the bumper. You can see it better in this video. I have no idea why they have it though, since FDNY SOPs banned the actual mechanical ones.
-
If you go to the FDNY's website (http://www.nyc.gov/html/fdny/html/home2.shtml), you can see all the inside the FDNY videos. I wouldn't recommend the one on fire safety though, it's geared towards little kids, the fire marshals one is good though.

extended cabs are becoming big in NYC for two reasons. The first is to provide more storage area for things like turnout gear and personal items so they don't take up space in the patient area. The second is that many rigs are now having refrigerators put in for meds to do things like theraputic hypothermia and such, so the refrigerator goes in the rear part of the cab. The new FDNY ambulances are going to be dodge crew cabs.
-
The FDNY tower ladders are mid mounts, but not all tower ladders are mid mounts, it's about 50/50 with rear mounts as well.
-
Those are both older versions, the two front line rigs right now are extended cab fords with surface mount LEDs in place of a light bar, which makes them look ugly in my opinion.
-
You forgot all the stupid leds on the front which take the place of a lightbar. I personally hope it was one of those rigs that burned today, I hate the look with out the lightbars.
-
I was just talking about that with a crew I rode with on Saturday night. Also, seems like more people are trying to beat the yellow light even when they can't, and end up blowing the red.
-
A few companies have the reqular mechanical q siren, and all of the new rigs are being delivered with the EQ2B siren, which is an electronic Q.

I'll give you a hint, it has jurisdiction across the country. -
The companies with the step vans are companies that are trained to a haz-mat technician level and can handle the basic haz-mat emergencies, this is so A) the haz-mat team isn't responding for every little call, and B) if the haz-mat team's already on a call, they can respond and handle the call.

No, I have no idea when they stopped using it though, but it has been sold off to several different places.
