  1. I have a lot of photos. If you want anything in particular I can go back and look through or at the very least provide some details. Here are a few IP related photos which may be of use. Hope this gives you some ideas =]
  2. Yeah, that would take some serious tweaking. The Iraqi Police are more of a security force than law enforcement in the way that we as Americans/Europeans understand. As of mid-2009 there were major changes to the status of forces agreement between the US and Iraqi government. For the most part, US soldiers are prohibited from entering urban areas without the request of Iraqi officials. There are a few exceptions for logistics and training reasons. Military Police were still permitted to operate in the cities as we play a major role in supporting the Iraqi Police.
  3. On Army instillations the firefighters are usually civilians. Even in Iraq on FOBs large enough to have a fire service, they're usually contracted civilian firemen from the US. The only military firemen I've seen were with the Air Force. These guys in Iraq work exclusively on the camp. Anything outside the walls is the problem of the Iraqi authorities who will usually just let it burn =P
  4. Cool concept, but a lot of the stuff here doesn't really make sense for Iraq. Very few bases in Iraq have MPs that carry out regular law enforcement functions. On Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) military law is largely enforced by the NCOs of a unit. MPs deployed to Iraq are there for a combat support mission and to train the Iraqi police, not enforce local law. A military base within the US is a lot like a normal city. Most forts in the US have all sorts of shops, residential housing areas, barracks which are very much like apartments, ect. These instillations are generally fully self sufficient when it comes to their emergency services. They have their own fire department, EMS, and police. For the most part firefighters on Army bases, especially the larger ones, are all civilians and use regular fire apparatus. These fire departments do a lot off-base as far as mutual aid goes. The Military Police on an instillation is also made up of both military and civilian personnel. The MPs work alongside civilian Department of the Army policemen and preform the same tasks. Most bases have concurrent jurisdiction which means they enforce military, federal, and state law on base. I'm an MP who was deployed to Iraq for a year in as part of a mission to work with Iraqi Police. Now that I'm stationed back in the US I'm attached to the instillation's permanent garrison in the traffic enforcement/investigations section. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help, and could even provide pictures of some of the things we use if you want.
  5. Yeah I get it, its just that when the past several pages are practically "you should do this" "yeah, and do this!" "do this too with a backflip!" its a little ridiculous reading through. lol
  6. I think the mod team is perfectly capable of thinking of ideas for missions all by themselvss. Just saying.
  7. very cool, but minor technical note here =] New York Army National Guard units don't wear the 10th Mountain Division patch. A lot of NG units train at Fort Drum, which is where 10 MTN is based out of, but we're about 8hrs away from New York City. NG units from New York wear this unit patch: http://stores.uniforms-4you.com/catalog/newyorksmall.jpg Also the US flag is reversed on military uniforms. Its also against regulations to have your sleeves rolled up in that uniform this is all splitting hairs on the details though I guess- overall this mod is looking absolutely awesome!
  8. Yes, yes it is =P It says 'communications' right on the side, dude. lol
  9. I think this should be the new ladder truck ;]
  10. Friggen sweet, love the way these are coming out =]
  11. Looks very cool! I like this concept a lot =]
  12. Love that new lightbar, awesome work
  13. The realism is probably what I like most about LA mod. Obviously there are some things that need to be compromised because of gameplay, but keeping the units as realistic as possible gives the game a great feel and especially interesting.
  14. The new lightbar looks fantastic! I was really hoping you would do something like this, makes the LAPD car a bit more unique from the other ones. Really excited for the next release now.
  15. Yeah, I was mostly commenting on how the car had crown victoria on the back where it usually says police interceptor. Its small and rarely gets noticed by anyone but around here usually the unmarked cars have it removed entirely. The fact that it had this made me wonder if it was actually manufactured as a civilian vehicle and originally lacked the speed and features of the police version or if it was actually made with the intention of being used as an unmarked. I definately get why they did it that way, just looks a lot more convincing than any of the other unmarked crown vics I've seen. lol
  16. Yeah, just was surprised they went that far. The department here just uses regular white or black police interceptors with civi plates and no markings- that or something totally different from a crown vic. From what I've seen the neighboring department and NYPD tend to do the same.
  17. Was that car manufactured as a civilian crown vic? Just noticing the chrome on back, doesn't the law enforcement version usually have that as black and say interceptor instead of crown victoria? Sorry for going a little OT.
  18. That looks great! Is it going to functional somehow, or just for looks? Either way its awesome.
  19. Even if it were possible, it sounds like a lot of work for such a small part of the game. Plus, the mod is really focused on Los Angeles. Theres already the small fire boat for water rescues and stuff, its not like theres going to be a mission taking place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Just my thoughts on the matter.
  20. Wow, really great! Does this mean we can expect to see more LACoFD stuff in the future?
  21. I've never seen an engine painted like that, and most of the departments around here generally seem pretty quick to jump on anything new and shiny. How recently did they start doing this? Reminds me of the european trucks, guess it really catches motorists attention though.
