Hi all, Sorry that you have not heard much from me for quite some time, life has been pretty hectic. I would like to thank those who has provided advice and support in my absence, and those who have provided files and suggestions to adapt this submod to v2.0 of the LA Mod. Prior to the release of LA Mod v2.0, I was working on some fairly major changes to the submod - which I now have to recreate for version 2.0. It is my intention to complete this project and to base it around version 2.0 with the AUS mod included. My time is very restricted so I will not be able to complete this project in the near future, but I will get it done - then after consultation with Hoppah to ensure that the changes meet his approval, I plan to release it. I will keep you informed, as I have news to provide, but please understand if there are infrequent posts from me for a while - I will be checking in and reply to pm's as I am able. Take care Shane

Hi Guys and Gals, Sorry for my absence ............... I just got online now and found version 2 is out downloading it now. Whilst that is fantastic news, I now have to rework my latest project, to make sure it is compatible with Version 2, as well as modify the current submod to suit, then rework a AUS compatible version OMG. I am having difficulty getting time to work on this at the moment - and won't get much until the new year, so please forgive me if I am not frequent on the topic for some time yet. Thanks to those who have been kindly answering questions that other members have posted ... it is greatly appreciated. Hi pyrofreak, Thanks for your interest. There has been a delay due to a problem with addition of the Large Rescue Ambulance (all the rest seem to add ok). I have to go back and work out the problem. Unfortunately I am at work at the moment, so have not had a chance to have a look at it yet. Have a couple of days off later in the week, so will look at it then and hopefully come up with a solution. Sorry I am unable to give you a better answer than that. Hi Guys and Gals, Not a good day for uploading/downloading it would seem I have just now changed the link on the first post to a megaupload download for the submod as the Sharebee page does not seem to want to load for many (including me). Dominic is working very hard to try to get the file uploaded to his site - as soon as he is able to access the file then we will not have to rely on third party filehosting sites (if you remember when v1.9.2 SG Submod was available from lamodificationcenter, there were very little - if any - problems accessing and downloading) I guess this is all my fault for making the package so large .......... and using up my allocated download space for other less important things But I really appreciate your support, patience and understanding - I hope that you find that this Submod was worth the effort. Please also be aware that these difficulties today have put me behind schedule on the AUS-SG Version (Additional Units Submod + SG Submod), so there may be a short delay - I am back to work tomorrow so my time will be limited for the next 5 days. I will do my best to get it out on a reliable download site as soon as possible. Take care Shane

Hi Krystle, That was my fault . I change a line of script when I was adding the extra audio and forgot to change it back. Thanks for picking that up. Just replace this file in the Emergency4/Mod/Los Angeles Mod v1.9/Scripts/Game/Command/ folder and allow it to overwrite the original file, then it will be good to go. I will update the package shortly. LACallPatrolCar.zip Dominic has made contact so we will have the download on ladmodificationcenter very shortly (I think). The Submod will not work with AUS Submod - we will be releasing a combined Submod for the two, as that is the only way to get it to work. You do not need to install v1.9.2 SG Submod first as it no longer exists. What you need to do is install Los Angeles Mod v1.9, then the number 3 patch for Los Angeles Mod v1.9. Once you have done that you overwrite the files with the ones from my submod. If you have any other Submod or changes made, it is most likely that the game will not work. I cannot recreate this issue. I have tried all four computers in our household and no of them have shown this problem. When I call the Detective I get the 3 unmarked dodge chargers and the LAPD SUV (as is scripted), after which I recieve a message stating that there are no detectives available. So I am not sure what to I can do for that. Hope this helps, take care Shane

Hi alaganga, I was able to reproduce the problem with the v symbol error, and have hopefully solved the problem. I will put a replacement LAFirestation.script file on the first post for anybody who encounters the same problem. Let me know how it goes. I have changed the download package to include this change so that any downloads from now will not require the extra file change. Regarding the duties of the Fire Captain, i would like to do as you suggest, but unfortunately at this time I cannot give the Captain anymore commands such as get hose, axe, jaws etc. as they would then lose their call unit commands. Hopefully in the future I will have a solution to that problem (I am working on it). Thanks for your feedback Take care Shane

Hi alaganga, Thanks for the feedback . Unfortunately, I have not been able to re-create the problem. Perhaps if you were to try re-installing the mod/submod, in case there was an error in the installation process. That's about all I have for you at the moment. Let me know if this works. I have found it works fine if you right click on the installer package and select "run as administrator". Hope this helps, take care Shane

Looks very much like the profiler. Hey ..... I have to start somewhere, dont I ..... I keep telling you I don't do models. Nice pick-up, by the way. Haven't heard back from Dominic yet, so I think I will upload somewhere and post the link so that you can start to download .......... and find all those problems for me I have compressed using 7-zip due to the size of the package (so if you don't have that, you will need it. It is free download) Dowload is about 25.9 mb, which extracts to 64 mb ..... and i don't have an installation program at this stage - sorry. So watch this space for the next 10 minutes and I should have the link. Take care Shane

Hi Danny 96, Thanks for your interest. The new unit is a Police Detective/Supervisor. It is easily identified as it is completely different from other police units. The Detective wears dark grey pants, with a light blue shirt and dark blue tie (often called a plain clothes detective). When on the scene of an incident he can put on a hi-viz vest to identify him as a police officer as seen in the screenshot below - where one officer is plain clothes, whilst the other is in the vest. Regarding the Unmarked CV's, the original black unmarked crown vic remains in the game and so does the white unmarked crown vic. All the others have been removed and Unmarked Dodge Chargers in Black, Burgundy (dark red), Navy Blue and White, have been added. These vehicles are perfectly suited for the plain clothes detective. Hi Guys and Gals, I have returned to the land of the not working (at least for a day or two). I am still having issues with the call command menu, so have decided not to include with this release. So v1.9.3 SG Submod is now ready to go. I have included Call Detective, Call SWAT, Call Bombsquad and Call Fire Engine for Police. I have included Call Battalion and Call EMS Captain for EMS/Fire. I am sending the files through to Dominic and as soon as it is uploaded, I will post the link on the first post. I will have the combined Additional Units Submod and SG Submod version ready in the next day or two and then that also will be available. Thank you all for your patience, Take care Shane

Hi Guys and Gals, I have some good news, and some not so good news. Firstly, the not so good news. There will be a bit of a delay with the release of the v1.9.3 SG Submod. The good news, is the reason for the delay. I have made a breakthrough in my attempts to add some special features to the submod - with significant help from a knowledgable source. I am going to need a bit of time to work out if I will be able to achieve what I had set out to do. I think it will be worth the wait. So please bear with me as I test this theory. Unfortunately, this breakthrough has taken place as we have all been put on alert status for Bushfires in the area, so i am hoping to get the time to work on it in the near future. This may cause a further delay, but at this time I am hoping that will not be the case. Sorry if I have disappointed some of you - I will make sure it is worth the wait. Take care Shane

Thank you all for your kind words , Just to clarify, there will be 2 releases of the submod; Los Angeles Mod v1.9.3 SG Submod Los Angeles Mod v1.9.3 AUS-SG Submod - which will be released at the same as the SG submod or within a couple of days of the first release. USMC_NL, the SWAT sniper is actually the SWAT officer who has equipped the PSG-1 sniper rifle (same as FBI). Whilst this is not a new addition, I think some people were not aware of this feature in earlier version of my submods. Regarding the parking at the policestation, the new UMPC Dodge Chargers (Burgundy, Navy Blue and White) will replace the UMPC Crown Vics at the station. I have kept the Black and the White UMPC Crown Vics in the mod for those who still wish to use them. Take care all Shane

Hi all, I seem to recall a discussion, quite a while ago regarding increasing the maximum number of commands that a unit may be given in the editor. Does anyone recall the details of that discussion ? I have had no luck after searching for quite some time (I don't think I dreamed it ). Alternatively, can I change where the commands appear (move them between the main box and the get equipment secondard tab). Any assistance greatly appreciated, Thanks Shane

Thanks for the supports, guys (and all the others that are enjoying this submod) ..... it is greatly appreciated. It is for people such as yourselves that we make our private mods available for use. The frequent bickering over what is realistic and what should/should not be ..... is pointless. These submods are made available for people to choose to download and use. They are based around peoples personal preferences. If you enjoy the submod concepts, then use it ..... if not ..... don't. Let's face it, I am not going to lose any sleep over somebody choosing not to use my submod. If you feel, something should be different, I am open to suggestions, and if I feel it appropriate, it may make it to the final submod .... alternately, I might give you the files to make that change to your copy, when I have time. So how about we focus on positive/constructive dialogue on this topic. Then we can concentrate on enjoying the submod, perhaps make a few improvements here and there, along the way.
