it went in service for a brief amount of time, but the truck was junk and they are still using the pierce

I dont see many issues with a rescue body, less things to fail. they only really run a gernorator. the engines and trucks are where im dissapointed

they still use the pierce becuase they are having problems with the Ferrara that replaced it. im actually supprised the pierce has held up as well as it has. they usually dont hold up to the abuse and break down frequently. from what i can see only the XT modles have held up. all the others iv used are junk. one almost killed me when it failed to pump at a fire. they have issues with going into pump gear, also there computers like to shut the trucks down.

btw, all of dc's trucks are tillers, with the exception of tower 3, but when its reserve unit is in, even its a tiller

DC does not have tankers, nor do they have brush trucks, or planes

My company uses hydrants, not lakes. we have 1500ft of 5in LDH for our supply line

for attack lines it goes 1 1/2 1 3/4 2 2 1/2 all can be operated by a single man, larger not so much for interior work as far as the single man goes.

an engine can handle more then 2 attack lines depending upon the water supply. pressure really doesn't have much to do with it, gallons puts out the fire, not pressure. also, one guy can handle an 1 1/3th line, its done a lot, cities guys do it too. also, you can drive a tiller without guy in the back, lock the wheels. kills the point of it, but it can be done
