Moving Train height change.
Fuzzyface replied to Commander Rasseru's topic in Modding Related Support
I don't really know too much on the map editing side of this, but is the 'rail' the train will follow a fixed object you place, or a texture/painted layer? I would have thought that you could just edit the height of the ground itself and then place the object on top? Like I said, i've never looked into editing so i'm probably way off the mark -
I always wondered why it did that haha

No problem, real life is a bit more important than this

Looking good to me! I'm very impressed by the detail of the skins on all your models so i'm happy to give compliments here!

Everything is looking fantastic here. Looking forward to this

FFEMTNECKER Many times people have different results when it comes to the numbers. Sometimes INCREASING it seems to lower issues. I suggest you try that, if you still have issues, try a clean install then give us screenshots of the areas traffic begins building up from, this will allow the more experienced guys here who can help resolve the issues for you. I suggest a clean install as you have already said yourself you are not good with codes & scripts. A clean slate will help members here assist you. Saying 'it still happens!' does not help in any way shape or form. For all we know, the traffic is building up because the drivers are staring at the bikini clad car-washers, or the prostitutes. Locations and images help here. Engine30 Whether you can find his post or not, you are talking to people who have been active on this forum a long time. Look at Hoppah himself, member no 4? He has said he does not want to start messing around with limited water and the use of fire hydrants. As suggested to you, winterberg mod has this. I suggest you start playing that. Failing that, wait until the NY mod comes out, as they have said it will feature in their game. If you had been on the forum long enough, hoppah has been at the forefront of finding ways to make things that were classed 'impossible' in this game possible. His tiller, for example. Therefore, i'd retract a comment such as that. [EDIT] Found hoppah's post for you e30 Was something like the 7th or 8th comment if you search 'water supply' as suggested.

2.0 LA traffic/traffic lights/pedestrians/fire issues
Fuzzyface replied to a topic in Los Angeles Mod
I haven't done it myself, from what I hear it's the same as reducing traffic, i'll have a look for the thread for you and link it once I do. ----- I have trouble with it sometimes as well (gas explosion on that crossroad to the left of the petrol station is a prime example) As I say, I just send all 5 engines there, and rapid deploy one by the limosine (this control the hedge which catches fire) then place one rapid deployed along the road to the South of the building, then the other 3 sit along the row of houses. It's a case sometimes of being unrealistic and just flooding the area with units. -
2.0 LA traffic/traffic lights/pedestrians/fire issues
Fuzzyface replied to a topic in Los Angeles Mod
You didn't say it happened 'for no reason', you just said it happens, which is why I stated the 2 in-game reasons this happens. If you have an obscene amount of pedetrians I suggest you edit the map params so less people enter the screen. I have played freeplay 'for hours', and yes, fires break out, which is why you ahve the ability to call more units from off the map. No, it's not normal for 5 buildings to catch fire, but in this game when something burns long enough, surrounding objects ignite. That's the way this game (and real life) works in regards to fire, it has set up scripts that when met, make things happen. And finally, yes, a sim is meant to be realistic, but there has to be a line somewhere. The game is built and designed to operate in certain ways, and that's exactly what it does. May I suggest that if you are having such issues with the new map, you delete and re-install the mod, but just opt to keep the original map. -
As nice as this looks, most people don't appreciate models not related to them or their mod being posted. Just a heads up for the future.

I'd like a mod of Grays in England but I don't think it's gonna happen. I understand your new so here goes; If you want a particular mod, you need to show you really are looking for a specific mod of your area. The likelihood of someone putting in the effort it takes to make a mod for this game because you think it is a good idea are slim to none. Therefore I suggest you either; A)Go to the tutorials section and begin by yourself and look for assistance later or B)Play the game using what's currently available. Apologies if this sounds harsh, just that's how it is

Rather safe than sorry Hoppah, can you start an OT thread containing the delightful pictures you post to assist your flaming of people? They are very enjoyable! Can you PM me a release date first with a link to Zelda test first though

I imagine he's been saving and exiting freeplay. I think i had a ten hour game once (by using save/load), my eyes would fall out of my face is I looked at my laptop that long haha.

Any joy yet?

2.0 LA traffic/traffic lights/pedestrians/fire issues
Fuzzyface replied to a topic in Los Angeles Mod
I'm no expert at the intricate details here but i'll give you my best shot at at least getting some more experienced people replying. As you said yourself, there are plenty of threads on the traffic in 2.0 If you've tried said fixes and have got nowhere, either you haven't followed them correctly (just a possibility, not saying you have) or for some reason it's not working for you. Unless you can post screenshots of specific areas where you are having problems so people can check them out, you will just have to live with it. and These two you will find are combined. A car will try to turn right and jam another in place, as no traffic can move the red sequence does not complete, so all lights turn red until you remove the car by doing what you said, shooting it, putting the fire out, and towing away. This is because the car gets stuck halfway through it's scripted action, hence why you can not just redirect it. This will return traffic lights/flow back to normal, until the same thing happens again. Pedestrians generally walk in the road when; A)One of your units uses the path or B)An armed suspect runs along the street. The only way to sort this out is to arrest them and walk them to the pavement, or use the 'send to' function of PD or FF. The only time this happens is; A)Gas explosion B)The multi vehicle crash by the hospital. They are meant to be this way, much like real life when big explosions happen, things catch fire. Just send all 4 units of FD1, and set up on each corner, of however you think is best for the area. And finally, This game is designed to be a rough sim, not real life, sometimes we have to deal with that. -------------------------------------- Since this was a sizeable amount to reply to, i'm hoping that other people will now just take the incorrect parts of my reply and straighten the rest out. Here's hoping! -
I was insinuating (suggesting) the fact he was whining like a little b***h haha
-
I reckon it could happen. I have substantial proof. Since Y2K getting on my computer has been such a pain
-
I swear there's a similiar thread to this somewhere here but either way; I send a singular army vehicle with 6 guys (No, it wouldn't happen in RL, but this is a game ^.^) Get one guy to get a flashbang, then set the other 5 in a diagonal line around a centimeter behind him. Click the furthest guy back on your line and get him to arrest the man with the sign, then, making your way towards the front of the line arrest the others. While your men charge forward shouting all forms of battle cry, throw the stun/flash grenade, all the protesters will amble around like they are on meth, and you arrest them all with no injuries obtained. Load everyone up, and drive off the map. Sorted. (In terms of flashbangs, provided they land close they stun enough for an arrest without a fight every time) EDIT; Dammit Forensics/damn my slow typing]

If you decide to go for it, good luck

This doesn't even deserve this reply, let alone one from a mod etc.

But I think Hoppah tidied it up nice enough when he said he was happy to just release vehicles and personell. It is the NY mods team decision if they want to give the full package first time round so I guess we just stick it out. Take into account how long Hoppah has had LA out and what he has added since, and the NY mod team are pretty much trying to get to the standard of 2.0, just in their first release, rather than wait 2-3 years to catch up? ---- In regards to that little girl complaining and saying the thread should be closed, i'm amazed his account wasn't deleted immediately haha

I tread as light as a ninja

Glad to see this mod is still chugging along nicely Looking forward to this release (whenever it may be). Keep up the good work chaps

I could probably out-walk that
