  1. In response to the other one, i found these on the internet (same registration, but the vehicle in your pic dosent have any livery on it)
  2. Yeah, even when we was 'just sitting around' there was plenty of paramedics to talk to Anyways, theocd, your turn
  3. It was like an introduction about WMAS, we had talks from Health and Safety (Which was actually quite fun to say the least) the Emergency Operations Center (Got to see live calls coming in on the CAD), the Major Incident Preparedness Team, a Community First Responder, a Paramedic Practitioner, Steve Cooper from the bike response unit (from emergency bikers) also had a visit from HART (but then they got called away to the suspected bomb incident on the M6 Toll a while back ) a visit to the Midlands Air Ambulance (But that was also out on call -.-) and alot of free teas from the standby/staff/rest room Ps; If anyone is looking to do work experience with WMAS and lives in the West Midlands area, drop me a PM.
  4. Yeah, simple one, based at the Dudley Make Ready Hub (Dudley Ambulance Station) took the photo while I was on work experience there.
  5. Service that runs the vehicle, Purpose of Vehicle, Make of Vehicle, Vehicle Number, and if possible where the vehicle is based.
  6. City of Corner Brook Municipal Police Force. Vehicle is for Parking & By-Law enforcement
  7. Yay, Ok this one will be tricky, as its not an emergency vehicle, buts its still used by an emergency service. Tip: Its an Event Vehicle for transporting a group of "talented" people. Where & Service is kind of obvious, so i want the Purpose of it / What kind of people it carries.
  8. Abrantes, Portugal, Offroad Rescue Truck (I saw somewhere volunteer vehicle maybe?)
  9. that seems very very detailed, but maybe some more objects, place seems a bit empty
  10. I would say welcome to England, but you have lived here all your life. And I was in an IT Lesson the other day, and a friend began complaining of severe abdo pain, to the point it was so painful she couldn't even cry and talk, and one of the school's first aider came in and just kept trying to move her to "get some fresh air", I suggested that the first aider call an ambulance because she obviously couldn't move because of how much pain she was in, it could have been a ruptured lining in the stomach or maybe even worse. In my opinion I would have called an ambulance as that would be the common sense thing to do, what about you lot?
  11. I think he put some on his finger to taste it, got distracted and forgot about it and then rubbed his eye (Stoke'y person, typical ) But all I can say was i was lying on my bed then all of a sudden someone screams like a 6 year old girl.
  12. I'm fine now, I didn't have any more after the Monday What was wrong with the casualty? If your able to share? And popped down the new pharmacy down the road last night with my nan, and they do an amazing deal where if you use their free prescription delivery service, you get free over the counter drugs if you ever need them for minor aliments, a free Accu-Check Aviva Blood Glucose testing kit (With lancets, test strips, etc) and a free Omron Upper Arm Automatic Blood Pressure monitor. FREEBIES
  13. Was on National Music Camp the other week, quite medically eventful, for myself included. Dealt with a fair few incidents throughout the week: 21/10/2012 - 20:30 - Sprained Ankle. 22/10/2012 - 22:25 - Foreign fluid in eye (Tabasco Sauce) - The same person who sprained their ankle.^ 23-10-2012 - 21:00 - Severe Cold - Breathing Difficulty and low temperature. And a few more which were very minor and didn't require filling in of a PRF. And myself, well, I caught a virus on the Friday night, caused me to have fits and blackouts, meant i was in and out of the medical centre until we left camp on Sunday. Then on Monday at school I had another one and have now been prescribed Diazepam to control any fits (haven't had any since though )
  14. Winterberg is a mod full of scripts, most of which are buggy and also because there is a lot of detail in the models, skins, etc, it makes the game very unstable and is likely to crash at any moment, the best fix for it is just to get a more high performance computer, but that'll only solve the problems with the model details, not the scripts, so you'll still get crashes.
  15. I'd doubt any first aid organisation would allow you wear kilts on duty, for infection control and operational reasons.
  16. Thing is though, if your not qualified and while carrying out first aid and you seriously cripples someone for life, then your legally not covered and therefore could be nicked for assault (Where as if your qualified and if you do do something that cripples them then it would go up to who ever trained/tested you, which would be investigated and would either result in them being done or some kind of change in the First Aid Manual) Or something along those lines which i was told by my instructor
  17. That's actually a good idea regarding first aiders, but there's so many people who are actually qualified first aiders compared to other titles like Doctor, Paramedic, etc. How would you be able to keep track of them all? Would there be some sort of national ID for people who are first aiders to prove that they are qualified when in the street like all other titles? (I personally carry an ID Lanyard with FIRST AIDER written around it and then an ID Card with my Name, Date of Birth, Training Level, When my qualification expires and a contact number as well as a photo, which tends to re-assure by-standers that there's someone who knows what they're doing there) Would there be some kind of portfolio to complete every year or so to make sure your still competent in 'practising' first aid? There would need to be some governing body like HCPC to regulate it (HSE kinda like does that, but only for the first aid at work courses) and that would cost quite a bit of money. It may mean there would be less first aiders, because of people not having the time to keep upto date with registration and/or people not being a**** to do it. But on the plus side it may mean people have more trust in having first aiders helping them as they're regulated.
  18. Here in the UK most medical titles (Paramedic, Nurse, Doctor, Chiropodist, etc) are protected by law and regulatory boards (HCPC, BMA, etc), however Surgeon isnt i dont think, but there was some outcry to make it illegal if your not one (So does that mean tree surgeons cant have the surgeon part? )
  19. The bag is only really for when im at events & camps and things like that, but the same as you, all i ever carry all the time is a pair of gloves and a face shield, and sometimes a pen torch & trauma shears if ive got a bag
  20. Yeah that other one is just a holdall and holds little equipment and is harder to carry than this backpack which holds loads of stuff. And actually I heard in a recent survey, most people wouldn't help if they saw someone in need, which is why for Cardiac Arrests there's adverts now saying hands only CPR (The Vinnie Jones one that weve all seen) because people thought that they had to do rescue breaths (mouth to mouth).
  21. Yeah I tend tend to only use equipment at cadets, but if someone is in serious need (Ie, Seizure, Cardiac Arrest, Myocardial Infarction, etc) in the middle of the street, I would assist them.
  22. Was meant to say first aider, but that's what came. And just got a new backpack from Swift Paramedical Supplies, wanna see?
