Awesome work. How do you get that reflective stripingn? Is it through adding an Alpha layer to the skin?
-
Have a guess. The infamous Intel HD I didn't expect it to work, but it was worth a good try.
-
Make sure you press OK on the lights menu and then OK on the edit unit menu. Then quit the editor. Also make sure you have sufficient user rights to save/write files in the Emergency 4 folder.

I just doubled my RAM from 4 to 8 and I'm still getting a CTD on loading Freeplay, with still the same log file entries. I guess it's video memory that's the issue then.
-
Can I ask who did your lighting? Especially the rotary ones. The readme wasn't specific, but they deserve some kind of medal or something
-
Hmm. That's also the last entry in my log, and I always do run as an administrator.
-
I also have the CTD on loading issue, but it's likely to be my system. An integrated intel HD pretty weak GPU so I don't have enough memory for big mods like Manhattan and this one. If you want, I'll stick the log file here shortly. Fantastic work though, guys

Yet again, amazing work, well done and thankyou! A question - how long do you think it's taken, in total, to get your map up to that standard? I guess you started from scratch and had to make your own buildings, models, textures and so on..?

Well, looks like we have a little gang here Maybe between the three of us, we can create some local scenes like those up there

Best way really is to zoom into the truck you want to send and read the number on it. Then find that number in the dispatch panel. Takes a few minutes to learn but you quickly pick up the most common units. Ghost - you're actually understated on this forum; well done and thank you for another great mod, it's awesome I would ask you if you know anything about what kind of dispatch groups are used in real life? -
Hey, pretty good idea, I like doing stuff like this. Other emergency forums have this thread and it's really popular, but it's a shame ours isn't. Off topic, it's nice to see another Birmingham guy here

One mission(event) on freeplay at the time
Wkboy714 replied to MARCO's topic in Modding Related Support
Unless you can create and use a new mission script for freeplay (which is very complicated), there is currently no way to limit freeplay to one event active at a time. The best solution is to edit the frequency of events to your personal preference until you find a balance you're happy with. To do this, open the mod's folder, go to Specs, and open "fp_params_endless" in Notepad. At the top, you should see "MinDurationBetweenEvents value". The number after this displays the number of seconds that will pass between you getting each call. Set this number higher to be given events more slowly (eg 120 means that at least 120 seconds will pass before the game gives you a new freeplay event). You can also set the number lower, such as to 30, which means the minimum time between freeplay events is only 30 seconds. Underneath that is "MaxIdleDuration value". This is how long the game will run without any active events (in case you completed them already). Setting this number higher will mean that you have a longer time between events, and can be useful if you find yourself overwhelmed and need more time to send your units back to base, tidy up, etc. Setting the number lower will mean that you will be given a new freeplay event very soon after completing (or failing) the previous one. Remember there is no way to specify the exact timings of when you get freeplay events - there is a hardcoded random element, which is the game's way of trying to present real life unpredictability. You can almost control this, though, by setting these values which allow you to control the maximum 'idle' times and minimum times between events. -
Great new screenshot. I'm so happy that finally someone realised how silly the default roads looked with each lane being three times wider than the car

That's the London Mod skin

Emergenyc. Something similar to EM4 but more simulator-y and less arcadey.

Fantastic work on that dog script. It looks great. May I ask how the searching evidence feature will be used in game?

Some weird script errors. Help please
Wkboy714 replied to Wkboy714's topic in Modding Related Support
Thanks EMC and thanks to the guy that messaged me. I tried both your ideas but didn't work. I just did bma's suggestion of starting again and checking it works every minute, and I have it working now. Thanks -
Hey, I've taken the LA mod's siren script for my own use but when trying to load the script I get about ten script errors. All I've changed is the prototypes of the vehicles and the parameters random number generation, the rest of the script is identical to LA mod's default script but it's freaking out and I'm not sure why. It advises that I may need to use a +P or -p option but to be honest I have no idea what that means. Even more confusing is that some script errors repeat themselves and the line it refers to in question seems to be identical to the original script. Also, what the hell does the error message about "this definitely is an evil workaround" mean?! I've been trying for days but I'm stuck so I'd appreciate help here please Attached the script, and click below to see the error messages. sirens.txt

It looks good but the only changes so far appears to be the lightbars, right? And where did you get those lightbars? Are they public? They're fantastic

I would love to download it, but all sites are blocked in the UK. edit - emergency planet does work of course, disregard that.

New York City Emergency Response Unit (NYCERU) Multiplayer Group
Wkboy714 replied to rafaelmfernandez's topic in Mods
Hey, I see rafael occasionally uploads multiplayer footage of your mod/s onto YouTube. Is there anyone else who does this? I love watching these videos but they pretty seldom. Keep up the great work guys -
A nice idea, but perhaps more trouble than it's worth. Don't forget that slicing a roof off would require modelling interiors for every vehicle you want to use it on.
