  1. Well I recommend the NL mod (Dutch Mod) and Unlimited Units. There are a few US lighting theme mods, and I think I heard of a Multi- Roles mod (firefighters can redirect, police can use a fire extinguisher) but that is included in the NL mod. However, I don't think there are any mods compatible with the new release, where normal officers have guns and some other minor fixes.
  2. In my personal opinion, the lights are easier and saves extra scripting work as there are already scripts for lights to go on during a traffic stop. In addition, are you sure the "STOP" on the bike is not just a static image? It probably is, I've never heard of a model that can change textures in- game. Even if it was a prototype, you can't exactly remove prototypes in- game... EDIT: Noticed that they can change the message. Now I'm thinking possible model changing.
  3. Which medium? Disk? Steam? Online code? I'm going to assume you got it shipped to you, which in that case (don't quote me on this one) you should download the "Prerequisites" and the latest patch (2.0.2, the first one from the top). But I never had this experience as I bought the game from Steam, which auto- updates.
  4. You could consider a group of red lights with a small corona and size Like this: OOO OOO OOO OOO O O O O O O OOO O O O OOO O O O O O OOO O OOO O Where each "O" is a little light, then mark all lights as special and script them to turn on when the police car attempts a traffic stop. This is what I'm planning on doing for my Autobahn mod.
  5. Depends on what happens. If I create a mission- based script mod, then no, you will be able to pick different countries from the mission menu, which is probably what is going to happen. If by some reason I create a mod that has scripts inside the freeplay, like the LA mod, then you will have to download separate mods.
  6. I saw the pictures and I was like "what?" because the cars are way too small. Gosh, those policemen must be pretty compact to fit in those cars Needs a lot of resizing.
  7. Yes, but in general, Emergency! took place in Los Angeles, not in San Francisco. You can't really call it an "Emergency!" mod if it takes place in San Francisco.
  8. Just so you know, Emergency! takes place in Los Angeles, not San Francisco.
  9. You're welcome! I try to answer every question, as I feel everyone should have a right to know reasonable things about the mod Well, thanks! I hope to make good on the mod. Actually, I don't hope, I will. In the empowering sense.
  10. The concept is the same, but the gameplay is still EM4- like. If I wanted to do that, I'd just make another game It will be several countries. Germany, American, and I'm thinking about British/ Canadian highway patrols. More may come.
  11. Well The Volume, I understand the stuff about you thinking I can't do this. I definitely can't do this alone. Most people can't. But I can do a lot. Also, what do you mean "name speaks of the German rescue units"? It's just the German highway police, not all rescue units. There will be fire/paramedics that are used as secondary resources, but mainly only police.
  12. A lot of scripts and similar. From difficult (which is why i need the scripter) to stuff i can do by myself.
  13. A lot. I do mostly skins and mapping (I am really good with making scenes really realistic) and a little scripting. I would try modelling, but I'm no expert with German cars, at least not enough to make a quality model that looks decent enough.
  14. I am not trying to trash contributions, as I'm only saying that they lack new ideas. What I was thinking was making a command that when pressed on the car, made the car pull over by forcing it to take a path to a stopping point on the highway. Basically either change the path or make an invisible police officer that redirects the car off to the side, kind of like the berlin mod where you make a path for the cars to follow when you get a real officer to direct them away from an accident. More realistic that original em4 redirection.
  15. It's not just me. A lot of people don't really like these submods. Also, this is still an idea. I'm not taking credit for something I haven't done yet. A lot of people complain about submods and they don't have mods either.
  16. Please message me if you would like to contribute/ help/ ect. I need 2 scripters and 1 person to make a map, but anyone who wants to help will almost certainly be accepted. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Mod Progress Statement: Getting a team together, trying to find models/ maps. Map 0% Models 0% Scripts 0% Stufs: 0% Well hello there, friends! Today I introduce to you a new concept: The Autobahn Mod. I know I've been silent for quite some time but that's because I've been thinking... I've always noticed that no one seems to bother making actual, NEW, interesting mods, but rather submods that are retextures of the LA Mod or the Mayberry Mod or [insert popular mod name here] Mod. Not to say these mods are bad, some are pretty decent when it comes to textures, but what they lack is creativity. They are simply retextures, with no new features or cars or ideas or anything of that sort. There's also the occasional new city, but they usually don't have any new features... ...but the Autobahn/ Highway Patrol mod focuses on making a new idea. As far as I know, no one has made a specific mod based solely on a Highway Patrol concept. And it may seem like "That is just... not reasonable, if you want to add new features and stuff." Well, the Berlin mod is something that breaks the rules of normal EM4. It's my inspiration. The Autobahn Police Simulator, a failed attempt at this in full 3D, is my motive. A sub game, that is almost a full game in itself. I have the ideas. I can do some of the work. I don't expect you to help me from the start, but here's what I'd appreciate: a scripter or twosomeone who would like to get their work published (American, German cars accepted)lightbars for both american and german cars (they are hard to find)And a map of a highway, if you made one and want it in a modAll helpers will be credited.Ideas: Traffic advisors that have words on them in real life, telling you to pull over and stuff Traffic cones, flares, and such that actually make traffic go around them Having to do a proper investigation of a crash, including license check and drunk test Play as an officer, not a dispatcher Use a radio to call for prisoner transports, ambulances, firetrucks, tow trucks, backups, radio statuses, license checks, and practically everything you could do with a radio Do pull overs and special events (carjacking, drug trafficking, ect.) Eat a meal No, really, to regain health. Assist fellow virtual officers -AI, but in my dreams its multiplayer Live the life of a highway patrol officer in a simulation game that wasn't designed for that but still works... very well. Have fun, drink a soda, give feedback, and support this idea!
  17. Hey do you know where those cars came from? Some day I'd like to start an Autobahn Mod with some German cars/ambulances/fire trucks.
  18. Alright then, even though I'm new to the modding stage.
  19. Ok, I'm following what I saw on the page. I'll also try to get itchboy to allow me to use the Taurus.
  20. Nice! Haters gonna hate tho... it is a WIP people!
  21. Thank goodness for the clarification on all of this, now I know when I get my Harrisburg mod released I can make sure that I have abided by all the rules (by asking for a pre-release review). Good job.
  22. I like that taurus a lot, do you know how I can get my hands on it? Also, I downloaded your map for the mod and am using it for my own mod, is there a problem with that? I've been crediting you, I've already done some screenshots.
  23. I know it involves setting up triggers, gates, and VOs, but I don't know specifics. You might want to take a look at the LA mod, the fire stations might have something to look at. As for an actual tutorial, I don't think one exists. But Hoppah or someone big like him might know the answer.
