Yeah, I never thought of that. There must be some other programming needed to make it work as a Mod. The other thing is that I don't know if it works in EM3. I don't have that version but I would tend to think that it should work there too.

Yeah, you'll notice this a few more times. I couldn't resist that on a few of the calls, particularly the police related calls.

Here the files are. Download both files. They are 25MB each. DOWNLOAD LINK Unzip the contents of both folders into the following path of your game's directory: Wizardworks/911 First.../Data/Lang/us/Supervisor/ That's it.

I just got home... give me some time to upload it.

Yeah, I replaced all videos. Sorry about to the original producer or designer. I just thought the guy was a little cheezy (or more cheesier than my creation).

Thanks for that! I just randomly thought about a flashing lightbar. I couldn't come up with anything else. Any ideas?

I know. I know. But like you said, it is eye candy but I have to keep telling myself that it's not real world - it's not real world. It's just the perfectionist in me. They really gotta fix that one though. You figure since everyone has done such an awesome job with all of the mods, freeplay maps mods, tweaks, done over the past year that someone might have added this little mod. I know - it's never a little mod.

Now, that's what I'm talking about. So, does that mean I would have to install the winterberg Mod in order to have this ability?

I have had the unpleasant experience of having a victim of a car accident die on the scene. I thought someone may have created a script or something that allow either a police officer or firefighter to cover the body of the victim with either a yellow emergency blanket which is something that is normally done in California. Just seems so decent rather than to allow the body to lay exposed out like that. Maybe the blanket would appear after a firefighter arrives on the scene to help and discovers that the person is already dead. Any suggestions? Anyone know how to create such a script or a mod that will do this? Kareem

Summary: For those of you who enjoy playing this game and using all the mods created by many other cool people on this forum. Here's yet another change you can make to your version of the EM4/911 FR. I have enjoyed this game immensely and have really appreciated the mods created by others but I really couldn't get into the supervisor who dispatched the calls for us to send units to. So, I decided to make a few changes to the "Supervisor" to suit my liking and hopefully add more realism to the game. So I have made it available for your enjoyment too. I listened to everyone's suggestions and recommendations and came up with second or enhanced version of the Supervisor Video/Audio. I hope you like it. The changes: - Replaced the original supervisor video with various video clips from 911 dispatch centers - I cleaned up the audio quality of the communications. - Included actual engine company names. - Updated a few radio codes used in the Los Angeles area Some codes used in the enhanced version Engine - fire engine Squad - squad truck Special Ops - USAR Rescue - ambulance MCU - mass casualty unit RP - reporting party (civilian making the 911 call) Code 37 - stolen vehicle 415 - public disturbance 451 - arson 488 - petty theft 211 - robbery 240 - assault How to install it The files need to be copied into the Data/Lang/us/supervisor folder. It will overwrite the other files. Or you can simply just remove those original files, back them up and add the new ones. I used Premiere Elements to change the audio and video. I'm not sure how you would do this in any other DVD or video authoring application. Video: 160x128 (so that it will fit inside the little screen that used to show the supervisor; Youtube makes the video too big) Video format: MPG 1 Audio: MPEG 1 Layer II, mono Additional Notes: It is also worth noting that this "Supervisor Mod" is technically not a Mod by the usual definition of LA Mods because the change affects the entire game including other installed Mods. So, if you have the Winterberg Mod installed, this "mod" will affect that mod too. So, you may not want to update your Supervisor files with these if you're using Winterberg or any other Mods. This only "modification" only applies to the EM4/911 First Responder version and NOT the Deluxe version. I'm not very good at this and I'm not sure if everyone will be satisfied (I'm not perfect) but hopefully you will like it and it will make your play more enjoyable. DOWNLOAD BELOW (1 file at 76MB) DOWNLOAD ENHANCED VERSION HERE The files are compressed using the standard Windows Compression program. You just need to unzip them.

Editing Audio: dispatch radio sounds and the supervisor?
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Supervisor Video removed, personal video added and audio changed to public safety sounding dispatch radio calls. All sounds and video works. The files need to be copied into the Data/Lang/us/supervisor folder. It will overwrite the other files. Or you can simply just remove those original files, back them up and add the new ones. If you want to add your own: I used Premiere Elements to change the audio and video. I'm not sure how you would do this in any other DVD authoring application. Video: 160x128 (so that it will fit inside the little screen that used to show the supervisor; Youtube makes the video too big) Video format: MPG 1 Audio: MPEG 1 Layer II Here is what the Supervisor video/audio has been replaced by: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBIyFVxwiU4 I can post a link so that you can directly download the new event files but I'm not sure where I can store these files for your access. -

I think I found it. Video too. Give me a few more tests. Then I'll post the details. -
Editing Audio: dispatch radio sounds and the supervisor?
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Well, I can get the audio portions of the video changed (thus far) but cannot seem to change the video. Understand too, that I am using Premiere Elements (v7)which allows you to manipulate video and audio. But the video portion is a little trickier - maybe some combination of formats I can't quite comprehend. As for the audio, it seems that in Premiere Elements 7, the preset titled "MPEG 2 Multimedia Compatible" gets the audio done. IF you dont have Premiere Elements, you may need to change your settings manually this way: Audio: Convert to MPEG2 - Framesize doesnt matter - framerate 25 - audio layer MPEG 1, Layer II If someone can figure out what the video properties are, that may help. -
Editing Audio: dispatch radio sounds and the supervisor?
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Los Angeles Mod
I thought about replacing the audio with actual radio clips from police, fire, or ems. I'll need to record some from live audio feeds from the online police scanners or use my police scanner to record my own. It's probably going to be easier to record from the internet. -

Editing Audio: dispatch radio sounds and the supervisor?
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Los Angeles Mod
I was able to convert one of the supervisor's tutorial videos. I imported the mpeg into Premiere Elements. It took a couple of tries though. The trick is to try to configure whichever video editor you're using so that the file maintains the properties that are used by EM4. On the third try, it worked - the problem is that now, I'll have to go back in to Premiere Elements and see what the video/audio properties were because I dont remember. -

Oh, they're not wav files after all; they're mpg files. I don't think I can edit those. Maybe try in Premiere Elements? -
Editing Audio: dispatch radio sounds and the supervisor?
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Sorry about the confusion, I am referring to the LA Mod. (Did I post to the wrong forum?) And great, that I can edit the supervisors wav files. What are they called? I couldn't find them last night. Are they in the Data audio folder and not the LA Mod audio folder? Also in referring to my first question, I was looking for sound files of when the officers, medics, etc are speaking. I was going to add some sounds of their 2-way radio transmissions. -
Editing Audio: dispatch radio sounds and the supervisor?

Is there a thread here where it has links to other dispatch radio audio files? Sounds from police, fire, and medical radios? Also what about the supervisor (the guy who announces the calls). Can his files be edited? Are they wav files? I was wondering if I could change some of the audio with my own. Kareem -
Submod: New Freeplay Map Second Edition - update
heyjoojoo replied to w00d's topic in Submods [Not released]
I've read the instructions for how to install both the New Map and the Second Edition Map Mod. I just can't follow the instructions too well. I'm sure it's written well for many others but I'm not following them. I have read it twice going back and forth between both sets of instructions. Maybe someone can simplify it a bit. Please explain how to install the New Maps? Some of the files' names are confusing and not matching... There are two files to download right? The ones for the Map (New_Freeplay_Floor.zip) and the other for Freeplay (New_Freeplay_normal.zip). Do I copy all of the contents of the Map folder into the Mod folder of the game and the contents of the Freeplay folder into where? Did I understand this correctly? Kareem EDITTED: Got it working. All I needed to do was to copy the folder contents into Mod directory of the game. No renaming necessary. At least so far... -
Submod: New Freeplay Map Second Edition - update
heyjoojoo replied to w00d's topic in Submods [Not released]
Oh I am not complaining - I installed it and it was fun. Looked great too. I ran into some problems with adding new vehicles and needed to run the 'repair' and uninstall the LA Mod. Trying it again now. I should be doing homework and looking for part/time work. -
Submod: New Freeplay Map Second Edition - update
heyjoojoo replied to w00d's topic in Submods [Not released]
I'm just a little confused. I just noticed this other mod. Which one of the freeplay maps do I need to download? Can I just download only the second edition or do I need both? Kareem U.S.A. -
Installation: need to activate on multiple profiles...
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Technical Related Support
So, I uninstalled it while in the admin account and then reinstalled it. It didnt ask for the activation code. But when I tried to launch it under the standard user profile, it asked for the activation code. Does that sound right? EDIT: I dont think that this game can be run under a standard profile. I think it needs to be administrator. I was having strange problems like the units not responding to mouse clicks. I'd hate to have to reinstall it again. I'm not sure what the deal is. Has anyone else tried to run the game under standard user accounts? KAreem -
Installation: need to activate on multiple profiles...
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Technical Related Support
It was until I decided to go and get it from Direct 2 Drive. I posted that on the other thread. Maybe there is a place on the activation screen that does ask about all users but I'll need to pay a little more attention.
