  1. How does dispatch refer to SWAT? tactical? special weapons?
  2. I actually don't even have the deluxe version of the game and so I can't even see what the differences would be.
  3. So, here's what I'm thinking. I will use some of the actual station names. Of course, I can't use all of them but rather the stations that receive high call numbers (i.e. 9, 57, 64, 33, etc.) In not knowing what the apparatus inventory is for each station other than 9, I had to improvise a little bit. I had to come to a point where I wasn't trying to be too nitpicky and perfect because I can get that way sometimes, and find a suitable middle point. I'll remove the "nothing further or no further details" and perhaps come up with something different. I'll eliminate the flashing lightbar, and replace it with footage of an actual communications center. And revising the audio to make it sound clearer and adding actual station names.
  4. Sorry everyone, been swamped with none play issues. The download link to the modified supervisor is here: Supervisor Modified I'm currently working on some revisions to this by eliminating the flashing lights, adding dispatch video, clearer radio audio, and actual station names. That may take awhile though.
  5. LAPD helicopter is referred to as... Medical helicopter is referred to as...
  6. Yeah, I knew that. I was just trying to get a better idea on how to redo the audio using a little more realism in the radio transmissions. As far as the game, I believe the mod is basically simulating a more of a City department rather than county or maybe it doesnt really matter. I wanted to use stations that obtained the highest calls. Would you happen to know which stations averaged the highest call rate?
  7. In looking at the stats of the number of calls for the different stations in LA, it doesn't look like the 'medic' units take anywhere near as many calls. Is it because AMR is taking the majority of those calls? It also looks like there are just a few stations that house 'medic' units. I counted only five. See http://www.lacountyfire.com/modules.php?na...paratustypesort
  8. I forgot one, what is the heavy equipment squad referred to as? I believe up here they refer to this as 'rescue' but not sure about LA...
  9. I have a question regarding the terminology used for LAFD calls. I prefer to have responses from only those who are experienced with dispatching or communication monitoring for the LA area. What terms do the dispatchers use for the following apparatus: Engines - I believe is "Engine" Foam Tenders - ?? Ambulances - ?? (for both ALS and BLS) Aerial Ladder Trucks - ?? Foam Tender - ?? Aerial Ladder Truck - ?? USAR Squad - ?? Tiller Truck - ?? Mass Casualty Unit - ?? HAZMAT Squad - ?? Brush Patrol - ?? Just need a little help in redoing the Supervisor video/audio in the game. Would really appreciate any help...
  10. Which scripts would I have to replace? (I have installed it before and discovered that I needed to re-configure both the freeplaybase and fparamendless files.)
  11. Is there a way to install the submod AMR units for those of us who have altered the Mod 1.9?
  12. lol love it! I havent hard that yet. I guess I have to play for three hours straight.
  13. There are 100 or so stations in Los Angeles county. I'm trying to think what engine names I should use for the supervisor. Maybe use the engines that get a majority of the calls or randomly select engine numbers? Something like: Engine 11, engine 35, truck 50, batallion 1 respond for a structure fire... Any suggestions? comments...
  14. No need to whine over this and refer to someone's posting as "trash". No one is arguing. That's not very nice; now apologize. Your posting was absolutely sufficient and clearly understood without your sentence beforehand. I was just remarking at how surprising your comment was. Everyone likes realism something that isn't real at all but rather game. All the people involved in this forum are interested in this game; they enjoy the game and so do I. It's amazing that modders can really help enhance the experience of the game and make it all more enjoyable. I thank them for that. Hoppah posted this thread for people like you and me to post "our thoughts". So what's I did and that's what others continue to do. So be nice.
  15. Just a question regarding the freeplay map. I hope that this hasn't been asked somewhere else. If it has, please point me there. What area of LA is the freeplay map based on. Is it just a conglomerate of various places around Los Angeles or is it a general area? If it's a general area, which LAFD Engine companies are in that area? I ask this question because I'm trying to determine which engine companies to use for my update to the supervisor files. This game has taken on a new meaning to "spending all my time" thanks to add of the realism added by modders and especially due to great deal of hardwork put in by Hoppah. Incredible amount of time and patience to deal with all of us. I don't know how he does it!
  16. Yeah, it's mostly yellow everywhere but if you can believe it, San Jose, California uses another color. I believe it was either green or blue with no writing on the tape. I've seen it a number of times and it looks so odd to me. But yellow seems to be the usual tape color.
  17. Well what would be the point of any of this? It's just "a thought" or a suggestion. Barricade tape might also help keep people from walking into an area where the first responders are working on patients.
  18. I've often wondered about that too but wasn't sure if it was possible but since someone else has brought it up. In case colors are of interest, in los angeles it's usually yellow tape with black text. See attached.
  19. Oh I agree wholeheartedly. It's one of those timing things.
  20. I updated that entire package and so there was no longer a need for this single updated file. Unfortunately, you'll have to go back to the original link and grab the entire package which includes the updated file. Go to the first posting.
  21. Yeah, you will need a powerful application like Adobe Premiere Elements which will allow you to edit the video and audio files. I have edited the video and audio and the info is here: Supervisor video and audio
  22. Really? How cool is that. Oops, there I go about "the dead" again. I found myself hoping that the bomb squad disarms the thing before it explodes. Every time it explodes, it scares the #$@$@ out of me.
  23. Not necessarily true. LA police use them as well.
  24. Got it. I never knew that. Took a lot of posts to get this point though... when all I was doing was contributing to someone's earlier question on what color the blankets usually are.
